Modern wholistic mental health and wellness. Now offering telemedicine options
Dear clients,
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and friend, Jeimy Alonso (Jeimy A.), who passed away yesterday evening. Jeimy was taken to the hospital after reporting trouble breathing. She passed away shortly after that. We send our deepest condolences to her family and friends. We will all miss her more than words can express...
Our practice will be closed today, June 5th, for all in-person appointments, but providers will continue to see clients with scheduled visits virtually.
We apologize in advance for any delays or inconvenience her absence may cause and we kindly ask you to be patient during these difficult times, as it may take a little bit longer to attend to your request.
If you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 911 or seek immediate care from the nearest hospital emergency room.
Respectfully,
Prisma Wellness
Farewell, Ionatan!

In addition, we will be able to deliver cutting-edge treatments, such as ketamine assisted therapy (now available), TMS (coming in 2025) and psychedelic assisted therapy (anticipated to be accessible in 2026), as well as continuing to research and implement the most modern biologically based approach to mental health.
Thank you for choosing us and hope you'll enjoy our new location at 321 Burnett Ave S, 2nd Floor, in Renton WA

Pharmacies nationwide are impacted by the cyberattack on Change Healthcare, a United Health software. Some pharmacies using this software are not able to receive electronic prescriptions to process medications.
Prisma Wellness is fully committed to assisting you during this period of disruption with all hands on deck. If your pharmacy has been impacted, please inform us through your Charm patient portal (https://phr2.charmtracker.com/login.sas) or call 206-785-1015, option 3.
To better serve you during these challenging times, we've implemented a system to provide oral prescriptions, however, due to the high demand we are experiencing, this may also take some time. For a speedy resolution, we kindly request that let us know of unaffected pharmacies you may be aware of so we can resend your prescriptions there.
We'd like to welcome Dr. Kory Simonsen to the Prisma Wellness family! Dr. Kory has specialized in emerging treatment options making him a provider of choice for those looking to explore less traditional types of mental health treatment. Clients can request an appointment with Dr. Kory the first week of September by visiting www.prismawellness.com and clicking on "schedule a consultation". Congratulations Dr. Scott and family on your double bundle of joy!
Dr. Scott is on paternity leave until 6/30/23 and this could potentially be extended for 1 or 2 more weeks. Several providers are covering for Dr. Scott. Please reach out to Lori C. via your patient portal if you need to schedule an appointment or to refill your medication.

Thank you, Dr. Daniel M. Salzer, Ph.D. for the kind words and recommendation of Dr. Emma. We appreciate the recognition of one of our providers and hope to continue to go above and beyond for our clients!
Studies have shown that positive thoughts can increase life expectancy and lower rates of depression, anxiety and stress.
Here are a few tips to help you engage in positive thinking:
🙏🏽 Practice gratitude: Make it an habit to take a few moments to give thanks for everything this world provides, such as shelter, food, heat, oxygen, the animals, your clothes, rain, your car...
🧘🏾♂️ Be in the present: The past cannot be changed and we have no control over the future, let them go.
📓 Write down positive affirmations: Use the words “I am” and “I can”. For example: I can get better, I am happy.
😂 Smile and Laugh: Watch a comedy or animal videos, listen to music, participate in activities you enjoy, spend time with loved ones, play with your pet, call a friend.
🌳 Get in touch with nature: Go outside and feel the breeze, walk barefoot on the grass, touch the trees, pardon an insect’s life.
💆🏻♀️Take care of yourself: Meditate, schedule a massage, exercise, give yourself space to do nothing, go have your nails done, schedule a hair cut, take a nice relaxing shower.

Did you know that plastic water bottles may contain harmful chemicals that you may ingest? The microplastics leach seems to be inevitable in the plastics industry. Plastics contain thousands of chemicals and only a small portion of these have been studied. Out of those, we know that BPA is associated with 5,735 deseases, including increased risk of cancer. PET contains chemicals that are endocrine disruptors, which may cause cancer, infertility, metabolic deseases, obesity, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's deseases. Phthalates may also cause ADHD, aggression, anxiety and depression.
At Prisma Wellness we always look after your well-being. It's for this reason that on 2022, we made the switch to boxed water, which is available to all clients coming to our office!

Take a moment to appreciate vastness, existence and perfection at its best. Imagine all the beaches together. If that was the Universe, the Milky Way would be an atom in a grain of sand or in other words, as Bill Nelson says "if you held a grain of sand on the tip of your finger at arm's length, that is the part of the Universe you are seeing". How humbling it is to realize that our planet is just a grain of sand within our galaxy, yet this picture shows a cluster of galaxies. It is truly astounding to realize that we are connected to this infinite abundance of energy.
It's here – the deepest, sharpest infrared view of the universe to date: Webb's First Deep Field.
Previewed by President Joe Biden on July 11, the image shows us galaxies once invisible to us. The full set of full-color images and data from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope will be revealed July 12: nasa.gov/webbfirstimages
We asked our eating disorders expert Michelle Zapinski, PMHNP-BC to share a few tips on how to have a better relationship with food. She says,
✅ Eat 3 meals and 3 snacks per day (if you don’t know where to start with this, I can recommend some brilliant dietitians).
✅ Move your body for joy – this means moving because it feels good, not because you’re trying to “earn” dessert. See what happens when you free yourself from food rules and preoccupation.
✅ Allow your body to weigh what it needs to weigh. Your body will naturally move into its set point when you feed and move it regularly. This is where acceptance starts to be a part of your life again.
✅ Remember, The scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That's it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility strength, or love.
👉 Your relationship with food is personal, unique and can be complex. If you feel you have a deep-rooted history with food or you feel it’s affecting your overall health, there is nothing wrong or shameful about seeking help of a professional for support and guidance. 🙌
We’d like to welcome Michelle Zapinski to our Prisma Wellness team! Michelle will be seeing clients virtually and in person at our Bellevue location starting May 16th. Michelle will accept Anthem (including Premera Blue Cross and Regence Blue Shield), Aetna and Cigna insurances.
To schedule a consultation with Michelle, please visit our website at www.prismawellness.com.
Now that masks are not required in many indoor spaces including businesses, we would like to announce that masks are optional at our wellness center in Bellevue.
Individuals may want to continue to wear a mask for added protection against COVID-19, including those who are immunocompromised, those living with someone immunocompromised, those who feel sick, or simply those who may just feel safer wearing a mask. Everyone should assess their own personal risk when making this decision.
We continue to take extra precautions to keep you safe, such as providing you with hand sanitizer, air purifiers as well as sanitizing our public areas.
If you have two insurances, but don't know which one will cover your doctor's visit, you are not alone. This is a common question we often get and the answer depends on who is the source of your healthcare benefits.
Below are the most common situations for coordination of benefits, but there may be others that could require a phone call to the insurance companies.
Two years into the pandemic and studies are starting to arise showing the long-term consequences of even a mild Covid-19 infection.
Science Magazine has released a compilation of studies regarding Covid-19 and Long Covid Syndromes, which include predominant neurologic and psychiatric symptoms, such as difficulty with memory, concentration, and ability to accomplish everyday tasks, frequent headaches, alterations in skin sensation, autonomic dysfunction, depression, intractable fatigue, and in severe cases, psychosis and paranoia. These may linger several months after the infection. Many people who experience these symptoms were less than 50 years old, healthy and active prior to infection. Notably, the majority were never hospitalized during their acute COVID-19 illness, reflecting mild initial disease.
A new Perspective in Science discusses the neurological symptoms that accompany and the possible mechanisms that cause them. ➡ https://fcld.ly/h7kuf5x
