How to manage your Debris for Richardson Collection.
City response teams are working on plans to begin storm-related debris removal. As you clear your property, please be sure to separate your tree, brush, and vegetative debris from other materials.
Collection crews will collect storm debris in your normal Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC) location, generally located on the right-of-way between the curb and sidewalk.
Crews will be performing city-wide collections once removal of debris begins, meaning you will not need to make a request for BABIC service. BABIC will return to normal service after removal of storm debris is complete.
For more severe weather-related information, visit www.cor.net/SevereWeather.

IMPACT IN POOL SCHEDULE
The Terrace and Canyon Creek pools will not open as scheduled Saturday, June 1 due to losing power after the May 28 storm.
Crews will need time to assess the chemical levels and pool equipment once power is restored.
Opening information will be posted here and online as soon as possible at www.cor.net/aquatics.
For storm recovery information, visit www.cor.net/SevereWeather.
REPORT BLOCKED ROADS
Report downed trees that are blocking streets and alleys by calling 24/7 at 972-744-4111 or e-mailing [email protected]. Crews are working hard to clear them as quickly and safely as possible and we appreciate your patience.
COLLECTION PLAN UPDSYE
Following the major storm event on May 28th, the City of Richardson is working diligently to clear debris and restore normal services. Here's a breakdown of the recovery process:
Phase I: Clearing a Path (Up to 72 Hours)
• Our top priority is ensuring all roads are passable.
• City crews are cutting debris blocking streets, hospitals, and critical facilities.
• Downed trees and vegetation will be moved to the curb for later removal.
• Help Us! Report blocked streets and alleys by calling 24/7 at 972-744-4111 or emailing [email protected]. We've already received over 300 calls, and crews are working hard to clear them as quickly and safely as possible.
Phase II: Curb-to-Curb Cleanup (Throughout the Weekend)
• Once a lane is cleared on all roads, crews will begin removing debris from curb to curb.
• Residents can help by placing storm-generated debris on the public right-of-way (between the street and sidewalk).
• Separate Debris Piles:
o Vegetative debris (limbs, shrubbery)
o Construction and demolition debris
• Important Notes:
o Bagged debris will not be collected.
o Do not place debris near utility boxes or hydrants.
o Brush and Bulky Item Collection (BABIC) is suspended for storm debris. Normal BABIC collection will resume later.
Phase III: Neighborhood Debris Removal (Starting June 3rd)
• City-contracted crews will begin collecting debris on Monday, June 3rd.
• This includes only storm-related debris placed on the public right-of-way near the curb, not in alleys.
• No commercial debris or hazardous waste will be collected.
• Removal is expected to take 4-6 weeks.
• Debris collection schedules will be posted on the City website (www.cor.net) and social media.
Collection Crews Appreciate Your Patience
The City of Richardson appreciates your patience and cooperation as we work to restore normalcy after this storm. We'll continue to provide updates as they become available.
