What a great week at the Summer Discovery program!

The first annual Summer Discovery Program for Talented Youth program was a week-long study in gadgets, graphic novels, and great friends! 🤩

Wow, how cool is this? The Environmental Science class had the opportunity to visit a local pond to do some hands-on research for their course. It is hard to believe today is the last day of the 2021 APSI, but we hope it was a beneficial week for teachers to bring home the knowledge they learned to their students! Thank you to all of our online and in-person participants, and thank you to our amazing consultants for being with us this week! Counting down to next year!! 👏🏻🤗

How is tomorrow the last day of the 2021 APSI?! Everyone has enjoyed their classes all week, and you guessed it… We were able to capture more pictures of hands-on learning and fun class sessions from the day! Please enjoy some of these moments 🤩

The week for APSI is finally here! Welcome to the 2021 APSI at EKU! Yesterday was full of practical learning and introductions to this week. Today was packed with hands-on learning and more to come! This week seems to be fueled by coffee and smiling faces 😊

The Summer Discovery at EKU for Talented Youth program is the perfect opportunity for your gifted & talented students this summer! Sessions include: Performing Arts, STEM, Leadership, and Creative Writing.

Students who will be in Grades 6-8 during the 2021-22 school year are invited to attend. The last day to register is 6/14!

The 2021 EKU AP Summer Institute is quickly approaching! For those attending in person, check in will begin at 7:00 AM Monday morning (June 14th) in the main lobby of the New Science Building. Instruction will begin at 8:30 AM each day.

Snacks and lunch will be provided to our on-campus guests, and guests are welcome to visit the Starbucks on campus for breakfast (will not be provided). Dinner will not be provided, but there are many great local eats in Richmond to check out!

We are looking forward to seeing all of your on-campus and online faces!

There is still time to register for the AP Summer Institute!! We are offering both IN-PERSON and ONLINE courses! Certain courses will only be taught online, and certain courses are only on EKU's campus. If you are still interested in registering, here is your sign! Run, don't walk!

An amazing perk of joining the 2021 AP Summer Institute is the Teacher's Choice Award: EACH TEACHER who attends the APSI will be able to award a $500 scholarship to one of their AP students who will attend EKU in Fall 2021 or 2022!! This allows AP educators/coordinators to recognize one student of their choice for academic excellence, hard work, and dedication in the participation of an AP course and exam. APSI is a week-long session of at least 30 hours of content-specific instruction and collaboration designed to strengthen your effectiveness as an AP professional AND as a teacher in the classroom!

The sessions are taught by College Board certified consultants, and each course includes opportunities for educators to explore how to design courses, review student samples and scoring guidelines, and explore feedback from the most recent exams.
