What is dramatic play?
It's the kind of play where kids take on roles and act them out as a way of exploring themselves and their surroundings. By pretending to be someone—or something—else, children can learn new ways to express themselves, share thoughts and ideas, and even get in touch with their feelings.
Creating art nurtures a child's early critical thinking and helps them learn to creatively solve problems.
Children learn to be flexible thinkers who are able to adapt to new situations and find new ways of doing things.
How cool & creative is this “painting with yarn” activity?!
Sorry I got messy today… ❤️
Painting with toy cars is a fun process art and sensory experience!
Our friends made interesting patterns in the paint while learning about color mixing and practicing fine motor skills
Happy Thanksgiving!

Developing friendships in preschool helps teach children to connect with others, learn to share, and grow emotionally. While they're playing together, children are also learning about negotiation, compassion, and respect. These are skills that will serve them well beyond preschool.

Why is building friendships important in early childhood?
When children play or interact with their peers, they are learning more about social behavior, including how to express themselves, how to take turns, and how to apply empathy when dealing with others.
Like adults, children are drawn to those who share the same interests and they need constant opportunities to spend time together, play and interact together.
🍂🍁 We hope all of our Patriots have a relaxing Fall Break this week! Do not forget: all Model Laboratory School offices are closed this week through Friday, October 13. We will see everyone back on Monday, October 16!
All smiles because today is Fri-YAY!
We hope everyone has an amazing weekend!
Fall is right around the corner, and Burrier is prepared!

👐🏼 Hands-on learning 👐🏼
Hands-on learning encourages multitasking through listening, speaking, touching and using the senses to explore the environment.
All friends are welcome at BCDC! 🐛
Today Models Librarian, Mrs. Williams visited Burrier!
Our friends enjoyed learning about how to utilize the library, taking care of materials, and even checked books out themselves!
