Today is 9 years of our son Ross Tomas passing. I designed the headstone over quite a few years. It’s was hard to do. I’d try and do it in the evenings while it was quite but then I’d fail due to the silence and pain. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t feel his loss. I don’t wish this kinda pain on anyone and I mean absolutely no one. Throughout life there are people that will try and kick you in the guts but they will never succeed. After going through such a loss you gain super strength to survive and go on. No one will ever beat you at anything ever. We taught Ross to be kind and respectful. He has 2 Bonneville land speed records that still stand to this day even though several have mouthed off and tried unsuccessfully to whip his ass/arse ever since only to learn they got their own asses whipped. If you do it in Ross spirit you can beat one of his land speed records. The other you cannot (youngest Indian rider to ever set a world land speed record). Many go through life thinking of material things they have. It means nothing. It’s how you treat your fellow man and women. We donate to several worthy causes and to others directly in need of financial and emotional help. We (meaning Carolyn and I) offer support to others in their time of crisis. Every day can be a difficult day but you too can get through it. Look around you and offer a hand and some love to someone else and make a difference in their life. Your upset is usually minor compared to others. Loosing Ross is painful and changed us forever. Stop and smell the roses in life and experience life. In Ross short 20 years of life he went everywhere with us and he got to experience life. Where ever we went, he went with us no matter where it was in the world. Hug and hold your kids. One never knows when it maybe your last. Do the same with your family and friends. Sometimes life comes up short. Live life and leave the world in better shape than how you arrived. Make a difference.
19 (-12c) degrees this morning in Gallup NM. When you are from SoCal u are not used to this kind of cold. Great way to start out with a flat tire and get a warm up. That’s what happens on the big jobs. Switch over to Kiwi Indian Motorcycles and Parts FB page as this is my main posting page and keep up on the Kiwi happenings
My 1944 Chief is getting an oil change and a once over before heading out tomorrow on a 1000 mile ride to Wickenburg Az, Prescott Az, Kingman Az, Las Vegas NV, Death Valley and home. She did 2400 miles on the Chase so might as well keep her rolling. I’ve sorted out a lot of back roads to take which adds a lot to the fun riding aspect. Enjoy life. Have fun. Live it up.
Switch over to Kiwi Indian Motorcycle and Parts FB page for the motorcycle cross country chase report. This page is being discontinued. Thank you
Slowly unloading some of the bikes from Davenport swap meet which will be for sale. A few more to off load from the trailer plus 3 basket cases. The green one is a 1948 still in very nice original paint, Prairie Green with 9900 miles on
The Kiwi gas tank tour continues, Amarillo Tx.
Discovering new places to eat while traveling is “usually” fun. Most end in success while some bomb. You gota risk it to get the biscuit. Stuffed Sopapillas in Albq NM is a specialty and this small neighborhood ma and pa restaurant, Padillas in NE Albq is really good. Great little family place that hit the spot spot on.
Best line up of Indians for sale in one location at Kiwi Indian Davenport Iowa Chief Blackhawk swap meet. Lots of fun with mates. Stop in and check out the beautiful Indians on row O.
The Kiwi gas tanks had to stop in to see good mates Kelly and Tracy at the Twisted Oz museum in Augusta KS. Always a fun time to see these 2 criminals.
The Kiwi gas tank tour continues, Cadillac Ranch Texas. Visit the traveling tank in Davenport Iowa swap meet this Thurs thru Sat.
And the new Kiwi gas tank tour continues. Tucumcari NM Route 66. Eastbound down and out.
My new Kiwi tanks are going nationwide and soon to be worldwide. Moving eastwards standing on the corner in Winslow Az. The local motorcycle cop (Shane) pulls up nearby and we start chatting and talk bikes. Then he introduces up to a local biz couple Brian and Lori who have a collection of motorcycles. Eventually have lunch at 2 and meet a railroad guy and then a couple from England. A short quickie stop turned into a 4hr stop over meeting the nicest of people. Have fun. Make friends. Meet people. Enjoy life. For the record you fellow chase riders, when we come through in a few weeks I have my get out of ticket pass lol.
The 1st set of Kiwi made tanks made in the USA. It’s been a long time coming but one has to understand the extensive process to get to this point. Starting from utilizing original factory prints, scanning original tanks, creating CAD drawings, building dies (extremely time consuming process), building fixtures, making filler necks, bungs for emblems/fittings and final fabrication and assembly. Our aim was to duplicate the original for a perfect reproduction. I appreciate everyone’s patience during this endeavor and shortly we can gradually move forwards on production as satisfy your needs. Thank you everyone for your patience and yes they are real. Come visit with me in Davenport Iowa swap row O and see/touch them in person.
Part of my up grade on my 1944 Chase bike was a new Kiwi/Raybestos EZ Release clutch. Now she just drops into gear without any grinding. Upgrade your Indian and experience the difference. Part No KI-10160.
The last thing to go on my 44 Chief for the Chase rally were the number plates. The custom brackets took longer to make than the service on the motorcycle itself. It took a bit of off roading to get to this spot out in the w*p w*ps but it’s nothing for a WWII era Chief.
Going over my 1944 Chief prepairing it for the chase rally next month. This bike originally came from Peru in 1990 and was a genuine essential use model which still has its original Kilometer speedometer with it. This era of Indians are utilitarian, open fenders for easy serviceability, 18” wheels to go anywhere, leaf spring forks for quick handling and spring frame for added comfort. So far she’s been to Mexico and New Zealand with me. Covid put a bit of a halt to the rest of my worldly adventures with her. Jesse bags are awesome for security and keeping things dry. Easy removal to take into a hotel room as well.
Ives Brothers Cody and Kyle inside their Wall of Death at Sturgis.
Inside the Ives Brothers Wall Of Death in Sturgis. Quite the experience but be careful how you follow them inside the wall otherwise you will get dizzy and fall over. Thanks guys.
Just horsing around in SD.
I love making Indian parts. New inner and outer primary covers are well underway. Better parts and better pricing. Keep moving forwards. Never look back. Make people smile. Bring happiness to others.
Just horsing around in SD with some just as silly mates.
Last year in Sturgis I meet these guys on vintage bikes who invited me to join them. Bobby, Nathan, Aaron (taking the pic), Keegan, Doc and Mike. We rode around the Black Hills, enjoyed cool sights and ate good food. We met up again this year and did the same. Great guys and great experiences. And we will do it again next year. Live life. Keep moving.
Live life. Keep moving.
Main Street Deadwood SD. Live life. Live it up. Have fun. Meet new people and make new friends.
Fun times tonight racing my 1945 Coast Guard Indian Chief at the Baker Drivetrain drag races at Sturgis. Another experience in the books upon an Indian. For the record, You dont need to concern yourself with my times as I was consistently the slowest lol. Thank you Baker Drivetrain.

8 years ago today at 5.59pm a great kids heart stopped beating and my soul was taken from me. It took me a long time to create his headstone. I don’t know how many times I tried but failed due to the hurt. I took a lot of pictures of Ross and I knew the emotion surrounding each one which makes it even harder. I taught him a lot of good lessons in life and some were to be kind, honest and sincere which a lot of others could well use that lesson. There’s a lot of emotions I live with, cry with and sometimes laugh with. I care about my friends. Others hoped to see me fail in business (for their selfish satisfaction), but it didnt happen and isn’t going to either. I taught Ross to be a survivor no matter what. No matter what life or other people grow at you, you find a way to succeed. Life without Ross has never been the same. The bikes I buy and the parts I design and create just fill a void of missing Ross. Ross was a typical 20 year old didn’t have a nickel to his name but he lived life and had a lot of worldly experiences. In his 20 years on this earth he probably lived 3 lifetimes of the average person with his experiences that we gave him. We are put on this earth to experience the experiences that are out there in the big wide world. Don’t buy into the bs and chase the money. Life is to be lived. You don’t need material things, live life and enjoy it’s people. Those are real experience that you cannot ever buy and will cherish to the end. The rest is just fakery. Ross you were my everything. Time to go for a ride in your memory son.
