We’re enjoying our annual staycation at the parks. This year we’re staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I love this one because as a moderate resort it’s pretty affordable and it has access to the Skyliner. The main pool is also great!

When my husband and I travelled to Europe for the first time, we were busy working and didn’t have the time to plan all the details. We decided to join a tour group. We had an absolutely amazing time exploring all over Ireland and still consider many of our fellow travelers we met on that tour to be friends 8 years later.

When my friend and I wanted to do a girls trip, we decided to book with a tour company so we could see more of the area without having to figure out getting around a foreign country ourselves.

One of my favorite things about being a Disney Passholder is that I never have to feel the need to “do everything” in a park and can go with the flow. When we walked into Epcot today the wait for Spaceship Earth was 40 minutes. Any passholder would know that this means one thing- the park is packed. On a regular day Spaceship Earth is typically a walk-on ride.

We are at the park today participating in the annual Easter egg hunt and enjoying the Flower and Garden festival. The park is crowded and lines are long, but we don’t care- because we know we can always come back another day. It makes being a passholder well worth it.

I personally don’t make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day, but maybe that’s because my husband has never booked me a trip in celebration of our eternal love.

Hint hint, Honey. ❤️

If you’ve cruised before, you’ve probably heard of cruise ducks that people will hide around the ship to bring a little joy when they’re found.

But have you heard of Fish Extender?

Disney Cruise passengers have a long-held tradition of Fish Extender gifts. You bring a door pocket (like our family one pictured here or this other cabin’s holiday one) or maybe if you’re doing a holiday cruise you could use a stocking. You bring some small gifts on board to put in the pockets on doors of other cabins throughout the ship and other people will fill the pockets of your door hanger with little gifts too. Some of the items are handmade, some store-bought, most are themed to the cruise.

This year we brought some cute holiday themed fidget poppers and surprised fellow sailors with them. In our pocket we received Disney and Christmas themed goodies galore, including pins, stickers, pens, toys, candy, ducks, a nutcracker, an ornament decorating kit, towel chair clips, and lip smackers chapsticks. Someone even gave us bracelets with our cruise dates and ship on them. You can even join Fish Extender groups on social media before your cruise and organize your giving with others, sharing ideas and plans.

It’s a fun tradition and Cady loved seeing the little surprises mysteriously show up throughout our trip, as well as getting to deliver some to others!

Fun Fact: The name fish extender came from the hanging pockets “extending” down from the door hooks, which look like fish, on the early DCL ships. The newer ships have since changed the look of the door hooks.

Meet my dirty laundry bag.

This little rollable, packable duffle bag is my lifesaver on trips. I throw it in my luggage because it takes up no space, and unroll it when we get settled in our room. As we wear outfits each day, I toss the dirty clothes into this bag. It can fit about 4 days worth of clothes for 3 people.

When the trip is over, I can either pack this guy up in the larger suitcase with some other stuff or I can bring it home as a new piece of luggage or flight carry-on if I needed the other space for souvenirs. It keeps my dirty clothes from mingling with anything extra that is still clean and when I get home I literally dump the entire thing into the washer with a color catcher and a couple of detergent pods.

My Dad would probably launch himself out of his grave over hearing me admit that I don’t sort clothes by color, but alas, I’ve been a grownup for a while now and I’ve only dyed something pink once 😉. I hope this tip helps some of you fellow travelers!

Last year my family went on their very first Disney Cruise, and I knew we had to do it again. This year we got to spend 3 nights aboard the newest ship in Disney’s fleet, the Wish. It’s a stunning ship and we had a great time.

Disney has announced that they will soon start accepting bookings for late fall/early winter 2024 sailings! We started a tradition last year of doing a Very Merrytime cruise each winter, so I am excited to be able to book for 2024 soon!

They’ve also announced new park celebration activities for the holiday parties!
