My beautiful client hadn’t colored her hair for almost two years. We have natural level 1 (black) roots, and previously colored hair which has faded to a warm brown. Our goal was to get her blended into a low maintenance balayage look, utilizing her natural root color for a seamless grow out. We were shooting for a warm blonde, but were open to reds and copper tones, knowing that the health of her hair would dictate the amount of lift we could achieve. The hair gods were with us l, and we achieved a perfect even lift. After a root melt, to really perfect the blend and tone of the highlights, these were our end results. There are two key differences to take your curls from a blowout look to a beachier wave ☝🏻you are holding the iron vertically, handle down, with the clamp to the frontHolding the iron vertically will give you a longer wave rather than a full curl. ✌🏻you are TWISTING the hair around the iron, not rolling it To get the twisting motion, put your hair in the iron closer to your scalp, turn the iron away from your face, then twist the hair off the iron, from the top of the strand. ✨the thicker your hair, the smaller the section of hair you should curl.
