Schaeffer Orchestra playing Christmas Music at Nursing Home
Orchestra students, under the direction of Mrs. Jody Pederson, recently served the Rochester community by playing beautiful Christmas music for the residents of Edenbrook Nursing Home. Thank you musicians, and Merry Christmas to all.

The Schaeffer sixth graders have memorized and recited 20 questions from the New City Catechism. The New City Catechism is a modern-day resource aimed at helping children and adults alike learn the core doctrines of the Christian faith via 52 questions and answers. The sixth graders have learned the first 20 questions of the catechism which pertain to God, Creation, the Fall, and the Law. They will be learning the next 20 questions which speak of Christ the Redeemer during second semester this year.

Phonics lesson in Ms. Davis's kindergarten class
Schaeffer kindergartners are already learning how to blend sounds to read words. This is foundational to a strong phonics and reading program. Our primary teachers have earned specialized training to teach children to read.
