One of my favorite things about gardening is bringing it inside occasionally. This was the arrangement I made for The Greater Rochester Perennial Society meeting last night. ALL from my garden.

Going out to work in your yard in this nice weather? Watch your step! It's very important that you NOT STEP in your garden right now. You will COMPRESS THE SOIL WHICH COULD restrict the growth and vigor of your plants. PLUS you might even step on crowns or plants that are not obviously visible. Use long handled tools as shown. TODAY I am going to cut down my big grasses that are starting to fall apart and make a mess in my yard.

I’m loving this app. Some mornings I just stick my phone out the door and it IDs the birds I’m hearing. So cool. Kids love it too. FREE.

My private clients enjoy the porch decorations I create for them, but I also lecture on the subject to teach the secrets of building a weather resistant porch pot. November 1st I gave a talk to the Federated Garden Clubs semi annual luncheon event. We had a great time. "Holiday Porch Pizzazz"

Fall Gardens - rich jewel tones. Some of my favorites!

10/13/2023

Y'all have heard me talk about WATER before. Well I'm back! Fall is a very important time to keep your gardens watered, especially all of the NEW trees, shrubs, and plants. These new plantings have not had time to grow roots out far enough to reach for moisture. Freezing ground will kill new plants if they are DRY. I will be watering my new plantings through November or longer if we stay this dry. WATERWATERWATER

New railings at Joanne's. These make her back gardens much more accessible in a SAFE way. Amazing work by Anthony Capone.

Plants are like people, and some are just outstanding!

Standing Out: β€œThey laugh at me because I’m different, I laugh at them because they’re all the same.” -Kurt Cobain. Captured this stunning sunflower field yesterday in the Vine Valley here in the Finger Lakes near Canandaigua Lake in Middlesex, NY (Yates County).
