Our team enjoyed cool treats from Kona Ice today! With the temperatures in the 90’s it was a good opportunity to remind everyone to stay hydrated during the hot summer months.

Today, we celebrated Mike Dempsey and his career at Georgia-Pacific Rome Lumber. He is retiring after 22 years of service with the company. We would like to thank him for all of his contributions over the years. Hearing everyone speak about Mike today left no doubt that he will be greatly missed! Mike is known for his sense of humor, respect for others, and his tremendous work ethic. He is a book of knowledge and can tell you the length of any belt and the horsepower of any motor in the facility off the top of his head. He has spent his most recent years as the maintenance planner and will leave big shoes to fill. Thank you for everything Mike, now go enjoy your retirement!

Their favorite saying is “teamwork makes the dream work” and we couldn’t agree more! It takes the whole team working together to achieve something like this! Awesome job team! Congratulations to our maintenance crew Greg Griffin, Wes Allen, Blake Hall, and Jarad Holcomb, for completing the Easy Laser Precision Alignment course! We are proud of them for continuing to level up their skills! Precision alignment is an essential part of what helps us make quality products, eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency!
