This weeks goes out to our man Grayson 💪🏽

Langer has been a ton of fun to work with since joining the a few months ago. He works hard, is extremely polite and enjoys his time in the gym getting better with his friends!

We are proud of his dedication so far and we’re excited to watch him continue to grow, lead and develop! Big love Langer ❤️ Can’t wait to see more of these cellys on the ice for years to come! (Swipe to slide ✌🏽)

This week’s goes out to Coach Drew Hahn!

Drew, a long-time ETS Performance Coach, recently found out he is cancer free, after a 5-month battle. We are extremely proud of Drew for the strength he’s displayed, and we are glad he can now begin the road to recovery.

This weeks goes out to the Marking siblings, Lexie & Eastin 😬

Nothing but love for these two 🖤❤️ Always smiling, always seeking to improve and ALWAYS having fun with the process! Both have made great improvements in their overall athletic abilities. It’s no doubt due to the time, effort and attention they put into everything. The best part is, we’re just getting started!

Grateful for the opportunity to serve you both! Keep up the great work 💪🏽

The only things we need from our athletes in each session are great work ethics, positive attitudes, and coachability; all of which are key for a successful, fulfilled life.

Little details such as choosing positivity, ability to make eye contact, and attacking each day with focus and enjoyment are just a few controllables that will have a profound impact in the long haul in life.

While training for sport and developing the fastest, most dynamic, most injury resistant, and best athletes possible is important, building character and curating an environment and culture that creates better human beings, is far more important.

It’s not just about the strength, speed and performance training.

An earned and deserved feature for this weeks shout out to ✌🏽

We’ve really enjoyed working with Paige these past three and a half months! Both inside and outside of our four walls, she’s competitive, kind and possess a magnetic personality.

It’s really refreshing to work with athletes that understand the work it takes to be successful and to attack it, session after session, head on. No excuses. Paige has truly been killing it since day 1 and has never failed to impress.

Thank you for all you trust, dedication and commitment Paige! We’re incredibly thankful and proud to serve as your strength coaches 🖤❤️

S/O to our girl ☝🏽

Recently named Captain for the 24’-25’ Simley girls hockey team 🫡 (also all conference honorable mention last year 😮‍💨) Ella already possesses the tools and ability to be a successful athlete… but she continues to push the needle, even continuing to train amidst a serious shoulder injury. She just gets it…

Although it’s early in the off-season, she’s already getting after it! We’re excited to watch her hard work and leadership on display this coming winter!

Grateful to be in your corner Ella 🖤❤️

Parents, ever notice your young athlete is:

🚨Often Tired?
🚨Feeling Weak?
🚨Burned out?
🚨Not getting stronger?
🚨Always sore?
🚨Not growing like they should?
🚨Has a hard time focusing?
 •
Step 1 is to focus on the basics before reaching for energy drinks or any other quick fixes.

If your son or daughter is always running on an empty tank it’s going to be impossible for them to achieve their goals or even just feel good in general.
 •
When you make this a priority, wellness and performance will change for the better, and you see a change immediately!

ETS X 42 STRONG

ETS will be hosting the second-annual 42 Day in honor of Tate Myre on April 2, 2024. On this day we will be hosting 42 minute workouts with a goal to create a greater sense of community and purpose among athletes across all ETS locations.

42 Strong was born out of the tragic events at Oxford High School, where Tate Myre, along with three others, lost their lives. In honor of Tate’s spirit and values, 42 Strong fosters purpose, resilience, and community through peer-to-peer mentorship.

At ETS, we’re proud to be part of the 42 Strong x ETS initiative, upholding Tate’s values of caring, hard work, and positivity. On April 2nd, join us in commemorating Tate’s legacy and building a sense of community with 42-minute workouts at our ETS Facility.

Current ETS athletes can bring a friend along and experience camaraderie as all athletes follow the same “42 Day” workout.

Our call to action:
1️⃣ Choose a “Tate Trait” to focus on.
2️⃣ Post a video on social media featuring your trait.
3️⃣ Implement this trait into your life for the betterment of yourself and your community.

Together, let’s build a better sense of purpose, community, and resilience.

S/O to our guy Micah for earning this weeks ☝🏽

One of our many stud hockey players, Micah started training with us this past November. Finding time to train 2-3x per week between school, homework, practices, games and tournaments in itself is a HUGE commitment and we’re extremely proud of him, and his persistence, during one of the busiest times of the year.

Keep up the great work Micah! Love having you as a part of the and we look forward to a BIG summer 💪🏽

Shout out to this weeks athlete Trey 🤟🏽

Never seen this kid have an off day… A multi-sport athlete, Trey has always found time to get his lifts in. The time and effort he has put forth in the gym has been paying dividends and we’re excited to watch him do some damage with the pads on this fall!

Keep pounding Trey! Nothing but good things in your future. Lucky to work with you big dawg 👊🏽

03/15/2024

This weeks goes out to our guy Tyler G 🤝🏽

We’ll preface this with what we refer to as our BIG 3. They are as follows…
1. No talking/listen when coach is talking
2. Be respectful to other athletes/coaches and only use language you would use at the dinner table with grandma & grandpa
3. WORK HARD and HAVE FUN. In that order

This is what we expect out of our athletes every time they set foot in the gym and we couldn’t think of a better athlete than Tyler that personifies these expectations. The way he carries himself and the standard at which he performs his work speaks volumes to his character. Certainly the type of person you’d want on your team.

Keep crushing Tyler! Grateful to be in your corner 👊🏽

Keeping with our nutrition theme this month…Carbohydrates and Athletes!

WHY YOU NEED CARBS:
From a performance perspective, carbohydrates are the fuel we use to drive our bodies during competition. It is the fuel we use so we don’t feel worn out or fatigued during athletic bouts. Never skip out on carbs to maintain a figure, as an athlete needs that fuel to perform at their peak 🚀

HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU EAT:
3-12 grams of carbohydrates per kilogram of body weight daily
5-7 g/kg/day for General Training Needs
7-10 g/kg/day for Endurance Athletes

GOOD SOURCES:
Fruits 🍉🍒🍌
Vegetables 🥕🥦🍠
Grains 🍚🍝

TRACKING:
Every athlete’s energy demand is different, know your bodyweight and what you should be eating daily. Excess will get stored by the body, so it is important to not over consume. Get the fuel and rest you need to perform at your highest level!

S/O to this weeks athlete .sharp.3☝🏽

There’s no secret as to why Mya was selected to be a captain for next years Farmington Tiger Volleyball squad. She’s intelligent, driven, charismatic and LEADS by example. What more can you ask for 🤷🏼‍♀️

We’re incredibly lucky you’re stuck with us until next season… and we’re determined to make it the best one yet! Until then, there’s more work (ISO holds 😬) to be done!

Blessed to have you in the Sharpie ❤️🖤

Who should supplement with Creatine?

Pretty much EVERYONE!

Along with increasing Strength & Power output, creatine helps aid in recovery, reduces inflammation, and also helps with cognitive function. Creatine also plays a key role in ATP production, and helps increase work capacity.

Is Creatine safe?

Yes, Creatine is one of the most widely studied supplements on the planet. It is safe, beneficial, and effective for young athletes all the way up to the elderly population!

Why is important (more now than ever) for youth to be active?

This hot new article, May the Force Be with Youth: Foundational Strength for Lifelong Development, does a great job at explaining and illustrating the importance of physical activity, especially for youth athletes. “Today’s youth are weaker than previous generations, and measurable reductions in physical fitness are beginning to emerge. Early exposure to strength-building activities is needed to prepare today’s youth for ongoing participation in varied physical activities throughout this developmental phase of life” (Faigenbaum et al., 2023).

These graphics do a great job illustrating the benefits of physical activity as well as the consequences of lack of resistance training. Especially for athletes participating in multiple sports, there is increased demand and ongoing need to participate in resistance training! Our goal is foundational strength for lifelong development 👏🏼

Why Copenhagen Planks?

Copenhagen planks are not only a variation of side plank, but really tagret the adductors. The top leg pushing down into the bench creates an isometric contraction of the top leg’s adductors. When lifting the bottom leg off the ground, there is less support, increasing the demand of the top leg’s adductors. The adductors aid in overall lower body strength and power output, but also play a large role in multidirectional movement in sport- don’t forget to train your adductors 🤝🏼

Shoutout to this weeks athlete Joseph☝🏽

J started with us way back in 2022 when he joined our Speed Plus program, and just a few months ago, began his strength journey with us via our Jumpstart Strength program 💪🏽

Joseph is a kid you wish you had 100 of.. At age 12, he sets a great example for our younger Speed Plus athletes. Pays attention to the details, finishes every rep at 100% and is always respectful to his coaches and peers.

Whatever sports season it may be, Joe is someone you want on your team, and we’re stoked he’s chosen to be apart of ours 🤝🏽

Keep up the great work buddy! We’re proud to be in your corner 👊🏽❤️🖤

As we celebrate Black History Month, and the accomplishment and contributions of African Americans to American History, let us be reminded of a quote from the Great Martin Luther King Jr.

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

Peace & Love for ALL
