G. Ortiz Photography
Photographer / Editer / Graphic Artist G. Ortiz Photography is culmination of my fascination with portraiture work and landscape imagery.
I love to connect with an individual or individuals and bring out a emotion or look they never knew they had. When i'm not photographing people, I find myself exploring corners of the city and looking for interesting shots. Utilizing my background as a Graphic Artist I have the ability to take what is a good shot and make it an awesome shot whether it be by artistic editing or full composition. Ph

I have photographed almost all genres and I still think photographing another Photographer is still the hardest. We have to learn to shut down and let the person shooting do his/her thing. We are critical on our own work so just imagine the vulnerability of being on the other side of the camera. Big shout to for trusting the process! We have hired each other in the past for our own personal sessions and continue to work together when the opportunity presents itself.

Raising children is a trip. I am a father to 3 girls and neither of them have the same personality. 1 thing all 3 have in common is a interest in some form of art. This is my oldest daughter .odesigns. She’s an awesome Pour Artist and is currently establishing an online merchant site. Whether you’re looking to add some color to your home decor with wall pieces to coffee table coasters, she’s got got you covered. Check out her work!
“Photography is the simplest thing in the world, but it is incredibly complicated to make it really work.”

Whether business or social, a headshot for me in most cases is your first impression. In today’s world, a great headshot covers more real estate than ever. With social media, online profiles, and communicative platforms like Zoom and Teams being used more commonly, your headshot is seen before you are heard. Make the right impression.
Lifestyle portraits for me is capturing the most natural essence of an individual. Going with the flow, creating imagery relatable to the individual in front of my camera. Building an awesome vibe and controlling that creative energy on the spot. Being able to capture personality and style is my goal.
Whether grand or intimate, a wedding should be captured with the best intention. Weddings to me are special. I’m probably as nervous as the couple is going into it. My nerves start going as I make my way to photograph the special day. But once I arrive, make my presence known, it all goes away and I go into auto pilot mode. I become not only the photographer but a planner, a therapist and maybe even a tailor. It’s funny how such a stress filled day becomes a challenging enjoyment. Making sure the couple receives captured moments they did not realize took place. Freezing the moment so they can re-live over and over again. A Wedding Photographer to me isn’t about having the best equipment, the popular name or even the experience. A Wedding Photographer is someone that can adapt to an ever changing environment, make the couple feel at ease and not get in the way of the day taking place. Learn to capture moments as well as getting into the moment. Don’t just shoot, photograph a story that stands the test of time.
“There is one thing the Photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.”

Old capture new edit! Originally taken in 2017 during Open Studios. I have always liked this shot so I decided to play with/ a different crop aspect to see if it was more interesting than the original portrait orientation. I snapped headshots of all the individuals that came through to see my space and just vibe out. The studio itch has resurfaced!

Old capture new edit! Originally taken in 2017 during an Open Studios event. I have always liked this shot but the original had some elements that took away from the subject. You’ll find the original on my feed somewhere. I snapped headshots of all the individuals that came through to see my space and just vibe out. The studio itch has resurfaced!
