Suspect of Sacramento Coach Arrested After Feature on America’s Most Dangerous Wanted
Per Sac PD:
“Homicide Suspect Arrested with Assistance from America’s Most Wanted and U.S. Marshal’s Service
On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the Sacramento Police Department is announcing the successful apprehension of a long-sought-after murder suspect, thanks to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies, including the United States Marshals Service, as well as a partnership with America’s Most Wanted on FOX.
The suspect, Tahje Michael, had been at large for the past 19 months after the alleged murder of Gregory Najee Grimes in Sacramento on July 4, 2022. Despite the exhaustive efforts by our investigators, Tahje Michael remained elusive until a breakthrough collaboration with America’s Most Wanted and the U.S. Marshal’s Service provided the necessary resources to locate him in Fayetteville, NC.
The arrest of Tahje Michael marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice for the victim and his family. “Today’s apprehension underscores the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to pursue justice,” stated Chief Kathy Lester, Chief of Police of the Sacramento Police Department.
The cooperation between multiple agencies highlights the importance of interagency collaboration and the utilization of resources available at the national level to ensure public safety. The dedication and perseverance exhibited by all involved serve as a testament to the effectiveness of coordinated efforts in apprehending dangerous individuals and bringing them to justice.”

Suspected Cop Impersonator Arrested After Chase
Per Sac Sheriff:
“Last night at approximately 8:15 pm, Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Patrol Deputies located a stolen white Ford Crown Victoria, near Watt Avenue and Peacekeeper Way in North Highlands. When they attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, the driver, later identified as 36-year-old Anthony Whitley, led Deputies on a high speed chase for about 15 minutes. The Winters Police Department was alerted by a concerned citizen about a suspicious SUV with red and white lights on Monday night
The driver of the SUV attempted to pull over another driver using red and blue lights on their dashboard. The SUV driver, described as a bald man in his 30s or 40s, quickly drove off eastbound on Main Street after making eye contact with the other driver.
The Winters police Department do not have any unmarked white or silver SUVs in service. While officers may wear plain clothes, they always carry their badge and ID. It is rare for imposters to pose as officers, but it is not impossible.
Officers from other jurisdictions are permitted to conduct traffic stops under state law.
