So I've been driving Lyft the past few weeks for some extra dough. Tonight I was driving a fare to a stop and drove past a house with a dude out front working in his yard. I thought he looked familiar so after I dropped off the passenger I headed back to see if it was him and sure enough, it was my first drummer from Trunk Of Funk, Bushey! I've not see this cat in 10 years or more. He even still has our old trailer that we'd pull on tour with all the band gear and merch.

So random but so great to see an old friend today!

I'm glad this white supremacist piece of s**t is dead. It's aweful that she was never held accountable for her actions in the murder of 14 year old Emmett Till in 1955. That's just the way the legal system works in AmeriKKKa. The system that is run by white supremacy protects white supremacists, even when they murder young children.

Rot in hell Carolyn Bryant Donham.

I hope her headstone and grave site is treated the same level of respect as the Emmitt Till monument has been since it was established. That is, I hope it is vandalized and shot at daily. This woman deserves no peace, not even in death.

Hello!

I know, I know, it has been since FOREVER since I have written. So much has happened in the last several months between touring the US for the first time since before Covid to actually getting sick with Covid in December. (Zero stars, I don't recommend it!) Well, it's a new year and I am hitting the ground running!

First order of business in 2023 is the new single that comes out on Friday called "My Truth". This song is a collaborative effort with my good brother Cee Knowledge. You may be more familiar with him by his other stage name, Doodlebug and as 1/3 of the Grammy Award winning group Digable Planets. The musical soundscape was created by none other than Mike Colossal. You may remember Colossal from the wheels of steel at a show or perhaps one of the other amazing songs he has produced for me in the past.

In this world of digital music driven by algorithms, streaming numbers the first week a song comes out will often determine whether or not a song gets placed in front of new listeners on the various streaming platforms. This is often the difference between a song getting tens of thousands of plays and reaching countless new fans or it just being another great song in an artist's catalogue.

Because of this new landscape in the music industry, I would like to ask a HUGE favor of you. So last night the highly respected Hip Hop Gods Radio premiered my upcoming single, My Truth, on their weekly installment as well as added it to rotation on the HHGR channel on Chuck D's RapStation app! If you use the app, please tune in, the more plays we get, the more likely we are to get on the HHGR Top 20!

This new song, my first in over a year and a half, features my good brother Cee Knowledge (aka Doodlebug, 1/3 of the legendary Digable Planets) and produced by the grand incredible Mike Colossal.

Yes!!!

I was so excited to be in Salt Lake City last night rocking with my brother Mr. Hooper! I can't believe it's been 3+ years since I'd seen any of my people there. Believe me, ir will NOT be that long between visits again as the wheels are turning in my head planning a Spring tour run.

Big shoutout to Mel Soul for providing sound for the night and the good folks at Uprok for hosting us last night, y'all are appreciated!

We have a few travel days as we move towards the next gig in Queens, NY so stay tuned for updates!
