This kid. The one who would stare me down, and make it quite clear that she doesn't "do" mornings, back when she was 8 and I was running a kids' ministry. The one would would shake her head at me, and we'd name dance moves after her during, "Lord, You are Good." The one who would begrungingly go to camp, and then kept going back year after year, long after she aged out. The one who hung close at all times, and now is ready to spread her wings and head off to college, and the world beyond. The one who God has great plans for. The one we all love and are incredibly proud of.

So, photographing a teenage boy is TOTALLY different than shooting a teenage girl. Girls want to pose, can get pretty comfortable moving, and editing is all about soft skin and amazing eyes. But for a boy, posing typically isn't natural and it's more fun to show some grit and sharp details in the skin. Josiah Mahnke came to hang out this weekend, and since we captured his sister's smiles last year, it was his turn! Enjoy Mom Bonnie & Dad Mike! So when it's the end of your senior shoot and you let your mom and the photographer completely take over styling.... you might just end up in an editorial shoot.
