Transylvanian Farmer
"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."
I love being able to do things myself. I’ve recently learned how to refinish furniture, how to use a paint sprayer, and it’s paying out. We received some free but outdated (IMO) furniture, so I gave it a makeover. I also painted the doors, baseboards, and trims for our house.
If you want it, you can do it!
Whether you believe it’s purposeful or not, this will affect us at all levels. Be ready, have books on everything you would need when you no longer have access to the internet, and tools, and whatever you need to survive (seeds?). Order stuff while you are able to.

Solar superstorm may shut down internet for months, scientist warns - Insider Paper A solar superstorm might wipe out the internet for weeks or even months, warns a scientist, Fox Weather reported.
I am convinced that one of the reasons Titus talks about the older women teaching the younger women to be at home, is because younger women often don’t appreciate being at home until they are older. It teaches us unconditional love more than anything.
It’s not until the last few years that I have found “joy” in tending to my family. It really ramped up over the last two years. And especially in the last year.
Each year that I get older, I appreciate homemaking more. It doesn’t feel like a job, it feels like a gift. There is endless joy because it is no longer done in vain. And that is the key.
For years I made my home in vain because of the expectations I placed on myself and my family. But now, with realistic expectations and really being ok with them, homemaking is joyful.
More importantly, however, the deeper love you have for the people within your home, the deeper you appreciate homemaking. If taking care of them is an inconvenience, then check your heart for selfishness and pride. Within reason, or course. We also don’t allow our family members to be sluggards. They all still have jobs yo do.
Dear homemaker, may I encourage you today to understand that finding joy in homemaking means setting real life expectations, not Pinterest ones. And setting aside homemaking in vain, and trading it for authentic Christ-like love for the people in your home.
This makes all the difference 🤍
Did you know that the more flowers you pick, the more flowers your plant will produce? The main purpose of the plants is to reproduce before they die. Once they put out flowers, if allowed to get to seed, they will stop making flowers, because the reproduction process is complete. If you pick the flowers, however, they will continue putting out flowers to try to get to seed.
These are from my garden. A few days ago I picked maybe 5-7 flowers, and this is today ❤️
My friends invented the coolest bottle opener you’ve seen! Check it out!
The grapevine we found and cleaned last year is producing a lot! The grapes are just the right sweetness and have a wonderful crunch to them. Very refreshing.
What peace of mind to know you can pick organic food out of your backyard ❤️
I don’t have dogs, but if I did…
I copied this from a group I’m in. The person who posted it did not copy it from another post. Like the one posting said, do with it what you will.
“This is just information folks, do with it what you will. About a month ago i was informed by someone who works in the animal industry as i do, tell me that soon there will be dog food on the shelf at stores throughout the united states that is reduced price. Significantly reduced !
There is a reason it is significantly reduced. Thats all i will say. I would not feed to my pets but that's just me.
Today i seen it at 2 seperate stores”
If you can only plant "ONE and only ONE" tomato for next year, what would it be?
Copied and pasted:
Just a little warning for all who are canning pickles or anything using vinegar. This year you cannot just grab a plastic jar of vinegar or even pickling vinegar without checking the label. Safe pickling requires 5% acidity...for the first time we are seeing 4% acidity vinegar... on the shelves. That renders anything pickled in the 4% NOT shelf stable. I belong to several canning FB pages where everyone is warning for the first time ever...to check those labels or you could be throwing out many jars of unsafe pickled veggies.

FYI
Today I made a very popular street food/fair food in Transylvania: Chimney cakes. it’s a sweet dough rolled in sugar and caramelized on a barbecue, then rolled in toppings like walnut and cinnamon sugar.
We used to have a business a few years back and we kept the oven. It’s delicious 😋 🤤
