Good evening everyone! Did you hear the wonderful news? We will be back at Pollyanna Brewing Company in St Charles again this Saturday September 14th beginning at Noon util we sell out! We will have all your favorites our almost famous beef brisket & pulled pork to go with everyone’s favorite Nannies baked beans and loaded potato salad. So we hope you can join us to wrap up an amazing summer and all our awesome friends at Pollyanna for some cold cold beers and fun adult beverages to go with some of our killer BBQ! Goooooooood morning everyone! We’re going to be making a special appearance this Friday June 7th at Pollyanna Brewing Company in St Charles beginning at 4 until we sell out. With this special appearance will be a speciality menu we will be serving up for the first time Bacon Burnt Ends with a Maple Bourbon Sauce, Brisket Birra Style Tacos, Sliced Smoked Tenderloin Sandwich with a garlic aioli and a Bacon Burnt End BLT! Hey all you 4 D’s manics I hope everyone had an awesome thanksgiving and is having a great start to their holiday season. There’s no easy way to say this but we will not be continuing with the catering and pre-order BBQ part of our business moving forward in 2024. For those that don’t know my name is Mike Derrico and I am the owner/BBQ pitmaster of 4 D’s BBQ. I am also married to the love of life Lacey Derrico and am the father of two beautiful children, my son Wyatt and daughter Kinslee. These 3 were the main reasons that I decided to grow my little BBQ catering business back in 2017 to help provide and give them more in life. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would reach the heights that it did in 2023 and a big reason for that is all of you and I thank you. Something I believe most people don’t know about me is that I also work another full-time job during the week Monday-Friday. So, between my full-time job and the expanding 4 D’s catering business it has left little to no time for the people that mean the most to me that being my wife and children. I can’t tell you how many baseball games I missed, or family parties I didn’t attend or how many times I heard “Daddy, you’re not coming with us?” all because I had 2-3 catering jobs in a day or was prepping all day/night for the coming events. That last one was probably the hardest pill for me to swallow and I knew it was something I didn’t want to keep hearing. My kids are at the age (4 &6) where they are starting to get more active in sports, school, and their little hobbies. I also know they are only going to be this age once and I don’t want to look back on my life and say I missed it because I was chasing after my own dreams. I also don’t want them to look back at their childhood and remember Dad not being there for all their special moments or accomplishments. I have to say my wife has been the real superhero through this all because for the past 5 years she has been picking up the slack when I’m gone all weekend long taking our kids to swim lessons, baseball games and more. She’s been my biggest supporter in this crazy wild adventure I’ve been on, and I thank her and love her for allowing me to chase after my dreams. This isn’t a decision that was made overnight. This is something that I have been thinking about for some time now and it’s a very difficult decision after having our best year ever in 2023. My family has been the greatest gift given to me in my life and it’s time that I gave them the full-time husband and father they deserve.

For all of you that have booked parties with us for 2024 we are still going to honor our commitment to all of you. We also will try to get out to Pollyanna Brewery in St Charles a handful of times this year as well when our busy schedule permits it so you guys can still get your 4 D’s BBQ fix. It has been an honor for me to serve and be a part of my local community and I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting us throughout the years and I want to let you all know this isn’t the end to my BBQ adventure it just time for me to put my focus elsewhere. Again, thank you all and I hope you and your families have an amazing finish to your 2023!
