🧡 Why does my blonde look brassy?! 🧡 . Blondes can look “brassy” for a couple reasons. The main issue is that artists are not making the hair light enough. Period. That’s it. Creating a blonde requires a lot of time and patience. No amount of “toner” or “blue/purple shampoo” will make you lighter or keep that brassy tone away. Sometimes I can apply my foils in 45 minutes but my client will sit for 60+ minutes until the right shade is achieved. I do not but my blondies under a dryer or heat lamp either to achieve a lighter look 🙅🏻‍♀️ . My lovely client is 3 month post we blonding service. Why does her blonde still look so good? At home color gone wrong 😶‍🌫️ . Color corrections are my jam! I love how much they challenge my skill set! With this particular situation there was no other choice but to chop her hair off. I know it’s not the most ideal situation. However, that white white hair will not hold color. No matter what, the color would fade faster than your Jimmy John’s driver 💨 . After all that white hair was gone I still had some very pale pieces that needed to be “filled” first. Next, I went back in to even out the “at home highlights” that were done, and melting down the pieces that were left out. The final result is a beautiful, healthy and even color! The whole process was 8hrs. I know that sounds crazy, but when you want it done right it will take time! . 🤍🖤Contrast 🖤🤍 . I have lots of clients that come to me already blonde wanting to be even more blonde! Having contrast in our hair color can really make those blonde pieces pop💥 Look up ⬆️ ⬆️ at my hearts for example. The white looks even brighter next to the black. Now if I have two white 🤍🤍 and two black 🖤🖤 neither look brighter than it’s partner heart next to each other. But when put them next to each other 🖤🤍 …which one looks brighter?! ✨Want to be a blonde✨ Section size matters! If there’s too much hair in the foil, the hair will not get light enough, and the inspo color will not be a reality! . Saturation matters!! If there isn’t enough product on the hair, the hair will not get light enough! . The type of lightener matters! I needed a stronger formula for the darker areas. Her prelightened and thin areas needed a more conditioning and gentle lightener! . All those foils matter! All those foils stacked isolate heat from the head moving the process along. No need for additional heat from a dryer or heat lamp! . Pulling the foils before the client sits at the bowl matters! This allows me to see if there areas that didn’t “lift” (aka get light enough) but no longer need the natural isolated heat from the foils to finish at room temp. This will prevent unwanted damage! . Shadow Root & a Gloss matter! The Shadow Root gives my client that lived-in beautiful blend with a soft outgrowth offering a low maintenance look. The Gloss gives my client the exact tone/shade of blonde she’s wanting with that silky glossy finish! . Time matters!! Allowing my client to process at a low and slow rate is key. I used the safest and most gentle formulation to allow the product to sit on the maximum amount of time. If I do not let it process long enough and there’s “brass” left over, no amount of blue/purple shampoo will make the blonde lighter/blonder/brighter! . All of the steps I took in the appointment gives a high impact blonde with very low maintenance! If I missed one or rushed this process my end result would not look like this. My lovely client will be able to go 3-4 months in between appointments vs every 6-8 weeks! .
