“United in Faith and Community”

This is the theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2024 and an appropriate theme to celebrate today as all seven of our Catholic Community Schools gathered at Cathedral for Mass.

It was an uplifting celebration of community, love, and faith. To hear the voices of all CCS students, teachers, faculty, priests, and other staff united in prayer and song was the perfect demonstration of the theme for CSW.

Bishop Patrick Neary’s homily wove together the student participation, the CSW theme, dad jokes, a celebration of all the people who make Catholic education special, and reminders grounded in our Catholic faith.

One reminder was to love like Jesus does to all people and to “recognize God in every person.”

Bishop Patrick Neary ended the homily by sharing a quote from the author Craig Groeschel which states, “Don’t settle for a normal life. Not when you can enjoy the wonderful weirdness of being who God created you to be.”

Thank you to everyone who made the Mass today possible.

We love our Catholic Community Schools!💙💛

Monday across all the Catholic Community Schools💙💛

🔹All Saints Academy had Readers Theater perform today.

🔹Cathedral had Adam Sandler day.

🔹St. Elizabeth Ann Seton’s theme for CSW is SEAS’s Kids Are Out Of This World. The community at SEAS had a busy day with donuts for parents at drop off, astronaut training in the gym, and wacky hair/clothes.

🔹St. Francis Xavier had neon day and the students glowed with lots of bright colors and happy hearts.

🔹St. Joseph Catholic School shown bright in their neon outfits at the Skatin’ Place.

🔹St. Katharine Drexel traveled to different service sites around the St. Cloud area for a morning of service and giving back to the community.

🔹St. Mary Help of Christians School’s theme for CSW is the Sky’s The Limit At SMHOCS. Their Monday theme was ‘You’re An All-Star’ Day. They had donuts off drop off, students dressed up as their favorite “star,” and read with flashlights.

We look forward to seeing what Tuesday brings for all our Catholic Community Schools!💙💛

CCS Faith in Action

On December 1, CCS faculty and staff participated in a half day of service at nonprofits across the St. Cloud area.

Some of the places people volunteered at included Anna Marie’s, Catholic Charities, Country Manor, Great River Children’s Museum, the Tri-County Humane Society, and more.

Service is a pillar of all Catholic Community Schools for our students which is why it’s important for our faculty and staff to lead by example.

Across CCS, we had 125 employees involved in the day of service and combined 375 hours of service across 17 St. Cloud organizations.

It was a day full of faith, service, and community.

We are so excited that Cathedral is offering Mass tomorrow in Spanish at 10:40 am!

The link to mass is here: https://youtu.be/JREq9ElqP7Y

Join us for Mass in Spanish tomorrow at 10:40 am!

Ms. Miley's Spanish II and Spanish III classes have organized Masses spoken in Spanish this week, and we want to extend an invite to one of them to the entire community.

A little background:

Fr. Doug had expressed interest in joining the students and Ms. Miley on one of the Guatemala mission trips that Cathedral organizes, but then COVID-19 arrived and everyone's travel plans changed.

Since travel plans have been on hold, Fr. Doug and Ms. Miley talked about ways to connect with our local Spanish-speaking community. Ms. Miley encourages students to attend the Spanish Mass at St. Joseph Parish in Waite Park on Sundays, and this week, putting his Spanish missile that he received five years ago for his ordination to use for the first time, Fr. Doug offered to say Mass in our new chapel in Spanish.

¡Dios les bendiga!

Every day is special for the moments, big and small.

Each week, we will be highlight positive moments from our St. Cloud Catholic Community Schools to celebrate all the special moments that happen within our schools to provide a little extra joy and positivity.

▫️ The ASA 6th graders got to Zoom with the New York Cities Argus String Quartet.

▫️ Students at Holy Cross and SEAS celebrated the 100th day of school.

▫️ St. Francis had their 10th Annual Fundraiser featuring the Gregory James Band, which was a huge success.

▫️ All the little Valentines at St. Joseph started the week off full of love with Valentine's Day celebrations.

▫️ SKD had their first Lenten Fish Fry Drive-Thru on Friday. If you missed this tasty meal, don't worry, they are having another one on March 19th.

▫️ SMHOCS enjoyed parachute fun this week that resulted in a great deal of laughter.

▫️ St. Wendelin students are learning cursive in the classroom and are practicing it in the snow.

▫️ Cathedral celebrated a fantastic week in all of their winter sports. We specifically wanted to highlight an athlete that broke not one but two records in the pool, Chris Morris. One in the 100 freestyle and the second in the 100 backstroke with times of 46.48 and 51.45, respectively.

Have a blessed week!
