If you ever thought doing an air drop would be hard, try doing it in AERPS gear. The 180th Airlift Squadron performs this duty with a professional attitude and willingness to persevere.

We saved aircraft tail # 86-1391 from the bone yard and are restoring it to our unit insignia before we place it on display. "Jesse 91" came to our unit in 1986 fresh from Lockheed. It flew many years of service, multiple wars and even was flooded in 1993. She finished her service at the C-130 School house at Little Rock AFB. Time to take that Arkansas tail flash back to a pony!

Welcome aboard Amanda!
Congrats to A1C Amanda Glise, as she enlists into the 139th with her daughter by her side. Amanda, from Savannah, will serve as an Air Transportation Specialist with the 139th.
So proud of the 241st this morning, they are deploying in support of the operations in Iraq. They looked excited and ready to begin their 7 month tour. I don't show their faces or names on Facebook, as their families safety is always my top concern. Keep our folks in your prayers and thoughts as they head out.

On 21 Sept at 9:00 PM, Jesse 41 was the first landing on St Thomas after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. I'm posting this video so everyone can see what an aircrew feels after flying thru a hurricane and landing on a closed field. It's unedited and raw, but this is reality. We are excited to survive the flight, but we all understand that our role is a serious one. We were able to land and put the 123rd special tactics squadron on the ground to open the airfield. Opening the field is critical to starting the flow of relief efforts.
To my 139th Airlift Wing airman, you make a difference! Keep up the effort!

The 139th Maintenance Group's work increased this month due to the increased need for the base's C-130's. Our aircraft would be stuck on the ground without these hard workers!
Third week of flying for hurricane duty. Crews and maintainers are working hard. Thanks Airman! You Rock!
