Book Bunny Cafe
Book Bunny Cafe is Minnesota's first rabbit cafe. The Book Bunny team will hop into Minneapolis / St. Paul this summer. Stay tuned for updates!
While we’re focusing on our health, the book bunny team is hard at work doing outreach and searching for investors and support organizations to help us launch.
If you haven’t yet donated to Book Bunny Cafe, please consider helping us out.
And THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us so far — whether that’s by donating, following, or simply spreading the word. It shows potential investors that our local community wants to see Book Bunny Cafe open for business.

Hey book buns ♡ Big news!
We’ll be hopping to our local vet clinic soon for...the RHDV2 vaccine, which Minnesota officially approved for release.
Hooray!
MN authorizes vaccine for highly contagious, deadly rabbit disease The disease was recently confirmed for the first time in Minnesota.
Highly contagious RHDV2 confirmed in pet rabbits located in Minnesota. We are sad to hear about this news and are continuing to push for vaccines and rabbit safety.

Highly contagious disease confirmed in pet rabbit | Minnesota Board of Animal Health Two Ramsey County indoor rabbits died suddenly and inexplicably earlier this month from a highly contagious rabbit disease detected for the first time in Minnesota. When the second rabbit died shortly after the first, the owner, a veterinarian, submitted it to the University of Minnesota Veterinary....
UPDATE:
Hey book buns! It’s been a tough year. Though vaccines and masks have helped us begin to tackle the global pandemic, the rabbit-specific RHDV2 remains a threat.
Book Bunny Cafe is carefully monitoring this virus and is still making efforts to get all our rabbits vaccinated as soon as possible. We are sad to say that we will not be opening doors until we can secure vaccines to keep all our bunnies safe.
Additionally, the cafe has not reached its startup goal, but we are still working hard to spread the word and reach potential investors who can help us launch. Your support is invaluable. We appreciate your patience as we hop through these hoops to open America’s first bunny cafe.
Stay tuned!

The Book Bunny Trio
We have decided to formally push back our opening date due to safety concerns regarding RHDV2 (Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus). Our resident book bunnies have not yet been able to secure a vaccine for this horrible disease, but we will keep you posted as we petition for vaccine access in the coming months.
Until then, please stay informed about RHDV2, and follow our page for more updates.
Stay healthy, everybunny!

Vaccinating bunnies As RHDV2, a highly-contagious strain of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus, spreads across the country, efforts are being made to protect rabbits at home and in the wild.

♡ Meet The Buns ♡
While Book Bunny Cafe will eventually house visiting rabbits for you to meet and adopt, a select few buns will call the cafe their permanent home. These resident book bunnies will be hoppy to see you whenever you visit.
We are thrilled to introduce our second book bunny:
Amelia Mae 🐰
Amelia is a sweet girl who lives for carrot tops and head scratches. She recently made her modeling debut on the front cover of a recent blurb from the St. Paul Pioneer Press, and she can’t wait to take photos with you once the cafe opens.

*BOOK BUNNY FAQs*
How will Book Bunny Cafe protect rabbits against Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV)?
Book Bunny Cafe promises to ensure the safety of all its resident rabbits and visiting adoptable rabbits. RHDV is a deadly and contagious virus that we are taking very seriously.
Despite no current major outbreaks in the state of Minnesota, Book Bunny Cafe will follow the same safety protocol as local shelters and rabbit rescue organizations, and our team will provide an immediate update if we suspect the virus will affect our projected opening date of September 2021.
At present, we plan to have all our resident rabbits vaccinated against the disease prior to opening.
Please continue to send questions and comments. We are so grateful for your concern and care about the safety and wellbeing of our sweet rabbits. Learn more about RHDV here: https://rabbit.org/rhdv/
Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) | House Rabbit Society The RHDV2 virus spreading in the United States & Mexico & Canada in 2020-2021 is a single genetic isolate, distinct from previous outbreaks in the Pacific Northwest (WA and Canada), New York, and Ohio.
