I’m sure we have all heard the horror stories of Mercury Retrograde…but did you know that Mercury isn’t the only planet that goes retrograde? 🙃

for starters, what does “retrograde” even mean?

many say that it means the planet is “moving backwards in its orbit”. but this is merely an optical illusion. a planet can’t suddenly start moving in the opposite direction. it is always revolving around the sun.
it can, however, s l o w d o w n.
and because of this, its proximity to Earth affects its energy towards us. the closer it is, the more potent it feels.

HOW the retrograde affects each of us is not only in relation to its general influence but also ties in to where the particular planet falls in your own chart.
for example, if you have a Pisces moon, you may be feeling the affects of the current Neptune retrograde the most because Neptune rules Pisces. and you may be feeling more sensitive and/or emotional than usual because your moon is your emotional self and is ruled by Pisces…which is ruled by Neptune…which is currently in retrograde.
or if your Neptune itself is IN Pisces…well, let me know how you’re doing 🫶🏼

these retrogrades are NOT something to be feared tho!! there is so much taboo that circulates the second that the word “retrograde” is even uttered. but I love to break those myths by bringing the attention back to: retrograde is simply an extremely potent time for a planet.
and we have the ability and privilege to work with it.
or fight it and cause ourselves frustration 😭
