All day events yesterday beginning with flag raising, reading of Federick Douglas, Jamaican food by Ray’s Adeas (excellent food btw), a very informative black history walking tour by Salem Historical tours. where one of the stops was the beautiful Hamilton Hall, ending with Black Panther movie showing on the Salem Common.

Not only are our indoor beds made, our outdoor raised beds are also made! Sugar pumpkins galore will be at the front climbing the bamboo scaffolding trellis. Center rows are the heirloom tomatoes with a side of zucchinis that’ll trail out towards the front door. Swiss chard and herbs scattered around the perimeter.

Rear bed has baby butternuts, cucumbers, more tomatoes and a variety of herbs.

They’ll be used when ready for your breakfast enjoyment. Farm bed to table.

Hope every mother had a fantastic Mother’s Day like I did with my daughters. We played tourist at the North West corner of the Northshore. Photos are in reverse chronological order. Received a beautiful floral arrangement from my favorite Salem florist, Dave Eng Flowers. Walked a nature trail at the Donovan Sacamore Conservation land trust in Hamilton. Went antiquing at the Canal Street Antique Market in Lawrence, then finished off the day at Simply Khmer, a Delicious and authentic Cambodian restaurant in Lowell. We had crispy chicken with papaya salad, Amok curry fish, and sticky rice. So good!!

We tried Blue Fez, a Moracan restaurant in downtown, for the first time. It was excellent!! We started with the artichokes appetizer which was mildly brined and very refreshing just like the lightly seasoned Mediterranean salad that didn't leave you too saturated with dressing.

I was excited to try their Bastilla, a shredded chicken mixture wrapped in a tender flaky filo pastry sprinkled with cinnamon sugar which I've had many times in Los Angeles. It was good, but there was too much filo and was hard crunchy rather than tender flaky.

Moving on to the main course, I had the lamb and eggplant Tangine and my husband had the meatball Tangine. Both flavorful with nice mix of seasonings.

Overall, excellent, flavourful and delicious. A really nice change of pace. Highly recommend!!
