The sun set Saturday. The sun shifted to the left about one sun width from the night before. The earth is tilting away from the sun in the Northern hemisphere as we prepare for winter and the Southern hemisphere is getting ready for Spring. So cool.

Milky Way dreams and camping wishes! The season of Milky Way core shooting is coming to an end. Time to point cameras due west to see the beauty. I’d love to hit up some coastal spots this and next month. Going to be hard with kids back in school and school sports in full swing. I’ll do my best to capture the night sky.
That bright light in the sky is a planet reflecting the suns light back at us. It was either Jupiter or Saturn 🪐. Space is so amazing.

4 years ago today life changed for so many of us. Out of the ashes, people came together and helped one another.
I miss the forest that were burned down. I’ve been back to visit some but Summer still closed and I really miss those areas.
Sunset last night had a moody vibe to it. Excited to catch sunset tonight and see how much the earth has tilted. Will the sun be farther to the left of the tree or closer to the tree?

Happy Friday.
Here is a photo of the moon setting over the cape with northern lights flooding the sky.
This night was so magical. As soon as I walked onto the beach I’m looking up and a huge shooting star goes right through the sky. It was the perfect welcoming. This is one of the first shots I took that night. I stayed up until sunrise watching the show in the sky.
I can’t believe how many times since this night I’ve been able to see the northern lights from Oregon.

Before the burn and I finally explored this one ridge above Detroit that we had been looking at for a few years. We planned to go back and stay the night but we never got a chance. When this area reopens this is on my top 5 spots to revisit.
