Pediatric Unit moves to new area
Salina Regional Health Center is pleased to announce that they have relocated the pediatric unit to a designated area on 5 Surgical. Most hospitals Salina Regional’s size have relocated and merged their pediatric units with another unit. Salina Regional has been researching this option for about two years and have come to the decision to move forward with this effective December 1, 2017. Salina Regional pediatricians are doing a great job of treating the pediatric population earlier to avoid hospitalization. Last year, there were 285 days that Salina Regional’s pediatric unit had one or less pediatric patients. Staff are utilized more efficiently by moving the unit. The same level of care will be maintained for pediatric patients and Salina Regional will still provide as many beds as needed for their pediatric patients on the west end of 5 Surgical in the Patient Tower. Salina Regional has great pediatricians and awesome pediatric nurses who will continue to provide excellent care to their pediatric patients.
