This is one of the coolest things I’ve experienced in my career- Avery is getting her FNP, and is doing some clinical time with me this summer. I am holding a picture of her dad on Mount Kilimanjaro In 2021; she is holding a picture of her dad AND mom (and their friends) in Machupiccu a few weeks ago. They had a flag made with our RHW logo and carried it to Peru with them for this picture! I have enjoyed being a small part of their adventures, and these pictures (and the people in them) mean the world to me. I ❤️ family medicine!

It sure has been a crazy week around here! We know change is a good thing but it definitely comes with challenges!
As many of you know Heather has made the difficult choice to pursue an opportunity with another clinic. She has been a valuable part of our family for the past year and we will miss her. This happened very quickly and we are still adjusting to the news. Some of you may have seen earlier this week, RDC announced that Heather will be starting with their primary care team in a few weeks. For those who plan to follow Heather to RDC, we will work to make your transition a smooth one. For those who plan to continue care with us at RHW, you will see that Chasity, Traci, and Carrie will provide the same high level of personal care we are known for. Either way, you’ll be in good hands.
There are more changes too! Not only are we up and running with our new medical record- the patient portal has changed to “My Chart”
And our online scheduling should be available again next week. We are about to start the next phase of our renovations and hope to have everything completed by the end of August.

We cannot thank you enough for the patience and support. All of these changes and hard work will allow us to continue caring for our community for many, many years!

After nearly SEVEN MONTHS of WORK, we are beyond excited to announce that we will be going live on Epic EHR on June 12. This is the same system that Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, UCLA Medical Center and over 250 more national healthcare organizations (including our local Atrium and Novant) use. Federal grants have made this system affordable for us through Novant's Community Connect program. We want to make it very clear that we are not "joining" Novant; but we do need to recognize our appreciation of the 15-20 Novant Community Connect/Epic/IT/Dimensions team that has been working on this project with us for the last 7 months. We also want to recognize Jay, Robbie, Josh and James at Secure Solutions Technology Partners for being right beside us every step of the way- we could not ask for a more solid IT team.

This system is going to improve the care we are able to provide in so many ways!!! (Traci has been giddy with anticipation and will be crying tears of joy on Wednesday 😂)

What an epic adventure for this team! These ladies have earned their spot in history as the First LR team to make it to the World Series, and then made it to the top 4! All of us at RHW are in awe of your talent, courage and dedication to the sport you love, and the paths you are carving for yourself and those who follow in your footsteps! Congratulations on an excellent season, we can’t wait to watch you do it again next year!
