This is the story of Greenville's Leslie Rangel, a 2022 McDonald’s HACER National Scholarship winner. Leo Medina always knew he wanted to create a legacy he and his family could be proud of. He saw a "now hiring" sign at a McDonald's while on vacation and applied on the spot. That leap of faith made Leo become the first Hispanic McDonald's owner/operator in South Carolina. Now, he shares his American dream with his daughter Karla, a second-generation owner/operator who grew up working alongside her dad. The Medinas are proud of their Puerto Rican heritage and the legacy they've created for future generations.
