“I’ve never had a ton of consistency with my curls just good days and not great days. A lot of days up in a pony tail. I live in the high desert and thought that my hair could only be consistent if I was at the beach or in a more humid climate, but after Tricia gave me a curly cut, even on my less curly days, my hair has so much consistency and way more curl and movement than ever before. The grow out process has been really special because the cut is only getting better. I can’t believe the difference of my hair and my connection to it. I wish I had known about curly cuts sooner! The grow out is so amazing”

After lots of distant flirting at parties and in the studio, & finally connected and became immediate friends. This ultimately turned into spending every moment together for the following two months and beyond.

Though they spend most of their time together, dancing together is a bit different. “Partnering in performance with someone you love is hard,” Hadriel explains. “When you’re trying to get everything perfect, it’s a recipe for disaster for me. I'm too impatient. Victoria, she is so patient, this is one of the things I love most about her, she brings me down to Earth.”

OLIVIA AND TYLER

Olivia joined Ballet West as a trainee, while her future husband Tyler was an experienced soloist. After their friends continued inviting them to “couple parties” as individuals, they picked up on the hint. Today, they can confirm the secret matchmaking worked. 

Tyler and Olivia have been happily married for eight years and genuinely enjoy performing with one another. They feel the dances become more meaningful when they’re partners, and are finding it's more quality time they get to spend together during their days.

DOMINIC AND VINICIUS

After bonding over culture shock, pursuing a dream, and recent heartbreak, and became quick friends who slowly fell in love. With Dominic being from Australia, and Vinicius growing up in Brazil - they've found a joint hobby of cooking for their friends with their unique backgrounds and cuisines. 

Because both moved to America for ballet, their love for dance is also important in the growth of their relationship. Though they compete for similar roles, they want each other to do well - supporting and honoring each other’s talents and helping them grow.

LILLIAN AND BEAU

After Covid sent  and  back to their hometowns, these Ballet West dancers realized they lived only 10 minutes from each other. They found joy through activities that got them out of the house such as bike riding and painting. But through that, they also found love.

 Just a week after dating, an opportunity arose for them to perform a series of partner dances with Ballet West as a couple in Salt Lake City. They performed to Frank Sinatra's "Somethin' Stupid" and are still happily together and dancing to this day.
