We hope everybody had a wonderful Labor Day! We sure did! ❤️ We started off with a project the whole family could work on together, then got some things done around the house, followed that up with delicious burgers and homemade macaroni, had an obligatory water gun fight, and finished off the night with a little AFV with Mimi and Papa Chief. We don’t get nearly enough days like this and so we cherish the ones we do! 🙌

Check out this solid maple Avery A-Frame table and bench that we had the pleasure of building for this young family’s new home in Louisville, MS! 😍

It features our newest stain color which is actually a layered finish using Rubio Monocoat Pre-aging Authentic #2 with “Bourbon” 2C Oil. We are calling this finished harvest wheat. 🤩🤩🤩Whatcha think?!

Throwback Thursday -

Our favorite projects are those that have a past, present and future. 🙌 We had the opportunity to work with and give fresh life to this 100 year old 🤯 walnut and cherry that had been sitting in this family’s barn. The wood had been passed down from generation to generation and now this dining set will be too. ❤️ These woods absolutely pop together! 🤩

Loving the way this Henderson Hourglass table pops against those polished concrete floors and those cool blue walls! Those matching saddle seat stools provide super convenient seating at that bar area. This is farmhouse chic at its finest! 😍🙌

Red oak finished with… you guessed it Rubio Monocoat “Castle Brown” 🤩

I swung by the shop to see Asa off for one last time. 🥺 Asa’s final project was another Emily chair for his mom ❤️ 🙌

As I was leaving I noticed he left this little memento he hand etched for me to which I say, “No thank YOU, for everything. Fellowship Furniture would not be what it is without you having been who you are!” ✊

When Asa came on board as an employee, he was already much more than that. As one of the young people at our church I have had the opportunity to not only watch him grow and but to be some small part of that growth. As he leaves, he does so as a mentee, a friend, and most importantly as a brother in Christ!

While our work together from 8-4:30 a few days a week was often physical, it reaped spiritual fruit in my life.

Last day with all four of the Fellowship Furniture crew before Asa goes off to college! ❤️

He only has one more day left with us after this and while we are sad to see him go we are confident that God has great things in store for him🙌

We had the pleasure to make and delivery these two gorgeous hard maple tables for a clients newly built home. 🤩😍 One is a 7ft Ryder table for their eat-in kitchen area, the other is 7ft Cassidy table with two 12” extension leaves for their formal dining space. Paired with 18 of our black Cafe Style chairs 🤯, there’s plenty of room for everyone to sit at big holiday gathers and so no one is going to have to find a place to sit at the kids table 🙌.

Finished with our always popular Rubio Monocoat Castle Brown on red oak, we are excited to add this table to our catalogue. We’d love to make one of these entirely out of walnut or white oak! Who wants one?!

Cannot believe 1) it has been that long 🤯and 2) we have less than a month left before he goes off to school 😢

As the OG Fellowship Furniture employee I can’t say enough about who he is as a person and the value that he has added to the business. We wouldn’t be where we are today without all his hard work! ❤️💪🙌

Tuesday Tidbit - what is a cerused wood finish?

“Cerusing is a wood finishing technique to achieve a two toned look where the the open grain of the wood is accentuated against a contrasting base color.” 👀

Depending on the procedure and products used this effect can add subtle depth (first picture, Rubio Monocoat “Antique Bronze” 2C Oil with White UMO) 👌or a more vivid pop (second picture, Precolor Easy “Cashmere Brown” with “Cotton White” 2C Oil). 😎

Rubio Monocoat makes this process super easy with seemingly limitless combinations across their product lines! 🙌

Check out these custom desks and builtin bookshelves we installed recently! 🙌 We always love taking on new design challenges as they stretch us in new ways and cause us to grow as craftsmen.

We are over the 🌙 with the way this faux live-edge walnut desk turned out 😍🤩 I just wish I had some better pictures because they don’t do it justice. It’s always a bit nerve-racking to begin cutting into a perfectly good panel but the end result is always worth it!

All of these pieces were finished with Rubio Monocoat 2C Oil. The walnut desk was finished with “Pure”, the oak desk was finished with “Castle Brown”, and the oak bookcase is finished with “Chocolate”.
