7 days of Christmas!! What’s the best way to celebrate Jesus?? The gift of giving and service!

As I was in prayer, I was asking the Lord how could I break the thread of material want this Christmas and focus on him. That was what led to the 7 days of Christmas challenge!!

Today kicks it off and I want to invite you to join my family as we do little things everyday that will make a huge difference in someone’s life this season!

Day 1 - Have the children agree to one kid (or multiple) off of the angel in Walmart. Then shop solely for that child. All the children to guide the shopping trip. Explain that giving a gift.

Day 2- how many bell ringers can you find in day (or in a car trip). You can give the kids cash or quarters. Have them hunt for bell ringers and allow them to be excited to put money in their buckets. Allow then to ask questions to the bell ringers.

Day 3- go to anyplace, food, coffee or grocery store etc and have the kids pick someone and then pay for that person items.

Day 4- obtain a shopping list for the local food bank and shop to complete that list. Explain what the purpose of the food bank is for.

Day 5-offer free services!! Mowing a yard, cleaning up absolutely anything! Get on your local social media sites or use word of mouth and ask if anyone needs help with anything! Weather it be picking up an item from the store or offering a mom a nap while you play either their baby. Be creative!

Day 6- (Christmas Eve) Go around your town and pass out thank you notes, candy canes or anything that shows appreciation to Holliday retail workers.

Day 7- Christmas Day essentially but we will be doing our on the 23rd. Pray with the homeless. We are making a simple warm dessert (rice pudding) to pass to the homeless as we ask if we can pray for them.

Someone asked me "why the I am more stuff"?

Well let me get a little personal.
One day I was alone and feeling very alone. I was feeling like a failure. I literally wanted to die. I was a crying fool and repeating to my myself between sobs that "I am nothing. I'm just an idiot who makes all the wrong choices. I fail at everythin. I suck."

Then I heard a whisper almost like a reminder, A thought of a whisper say "you are more"
Immediately I remembered a line in proverbs "she is worth far more than rubies."

In my moment of self inflicted despair I went to that verse and started to say "I am more, I am more..."

Then immediately wrote this 👇👇🏽👇🏿👇🏻

I am more than the lies.
I am more than this night.
I am more than this fight.

I am more.

I am more than your wife.
I am more than divroce.
I am more than this hurt.

I am more.

I am more than these clothes.
I am more than this skin.
I am more than this hair.

I am more.

I am more than this car.
I am more than this house.
I am more than this money.

I am more.

Life's tough. Tough for me, tough for you, for all of us. It comes with fear, worry, sleeplessness nights, anxiety, and the list goes on. We all have something we battle with. It's ironic because we are all connected in that way, but we all keep it hidden. We treat out battles like shame.My dear you have nothing to be ashamed of, for you are worth more than rubies. (Proverbs 3:15)

You do not have to battle alone.

Life's circumstances can really get us down or keep us from moving forward. Whether it's bills, family, work, thoughts, depression, emptiness and the list goes on, it's as if we are bound and never allowed to be free. Never able to get ahead or to have real joy. Now, joy is something that comes from within, but is hard to find in darkness. Joy comes when you realize you're free.

I dare you to look at yourself in the mirror and say this sentence. Say it over and over till your screaming it. Say it till you actually believe. Do it every day or through out the day, because my friend you are infact more.

Sentence: I am more than (insert problem here).

Examples. I am more than abuse.
I am more than debt.

I am more than....

Proverbs 3:15
