Original Artwork by Melissa Hernandez
This is my reference photo for my next painting :)
Making digital pop art portraits, $20. 😁
I did this pet portrait a while back for a lovely customer. PM me if you'd like one! They start at $25!
Photoshop requests are officially allowed! Talk to me about our packages and pricing! These are examples, and are great gifts for the holidays!
I miss you so freaking much.
My assignment for drawing 2 was to draw something amalgamation, and make it look like something you might actually see in the world. We were to combine a human, animal, and object into 1 cohesive piece. This was mine.
I've really gotten better at my drawing techniques. Its hard, tedious, and definitely not my favorite medium, but I need it's foundation to improve my work in other areas. I know I can only get better! 😉💕
Can we just talk about how his angle of the girl he's drawing is incorrect? And the fact that art models are hardly ever the current views of what beautiful is. Its much more interesting to draw an old person, honestly. Also. Uh the models DO NOT showcase themselves in this manner? They're taught how to pose and the pose always has a discreetness to them. Usually I will only see 1 breast, while the other is covered by a cloth they had as a prop. I've never seen a promiscuous art model.
More assignments for color theory! :) I'm honestly loving this class. 😍
I did this one for a color theory assignment about mixing colors and such. And Zooey wanted to help, so I let her. She put her handprint on top, although, the paper is ripped so I had to crop most of it out, to make sure I'm turning in the most accurate depiction of my assignment.
I definitely am going to make her again this year. Maybe even add a Georgie to the mix!! 😏😏 I love sculpture.
Want a custom pet portrait? I need some money to make ends meet, so I'm selling these 5x7" paintings (that are easy to ship anywhere) for $20 ea!!
Finished product.
I painted this because it allowed me to escape. Covid19 cancelled our April family vacation we had been planning for months. I've been feeling bummed out by this, although I understand that it's no bodies fault, these things just happen sometimes. Covid has been taking quite the tole on my mental health that was progressing so much back before covid. I was working on myself really hard and was overcoming some challenges I had faced.
Then the virus.
Then my mental health started deteriorating.
I am strong. We are all strong. We will get through this together. Someday, we will be able to look back at this time and think "Wow. I made it out. I was strong".
This is a painting that represents where I imagine life post covid. My family WILL take that much needed vacation. We will appreciate it that much more since we have to wait so long for it.
Love and miss you, girl. 💕
For those who don't know.
Spicey was my kitty, she passed away January 3rd, 2019 from cancer that was surrounding her lungs...and I still ache for her to this day.
I miss her soft fur on my face bumping me, her quiet purr, and her sweet stature. She was my best friend and helped me through some tough times, and I am not exaggerating. I miss her, love her, and am glad I got those feelings on paper.
Since I can't be with her, I decided to paint her. I miss her and this was a way to get my feelings out.
Ps. The lighting sucks right now, so ill be posting a better lit pic tomorrow
Studio day!!
Zooey redecorated my studio table. Good thing she chose my favorite color 😂😍😭 but why did she have to use my most expensive materials 😭
I painted this as part of a series I'm doing about my parents property.
I made a mistake, a rookie one at that, and made a smudge with my hand. Last night, when I completed the painting I was so mad at myself for this smudge.
Today, with new eyes, I love it and have decided to embrace it.
It's a reminder that even professional artists make mistakes. This is going into my portfolio just like this.

"Sebastian" and "Sickley" the chickens on Unicorn Ranch 💕 @ San Antonio, Texas
"Farmer Long" 8x8 Acrylic on Bristol
I learned quite a bit while painting this, as I've never used colors in this manor.
Story time!
I went to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, and Paris back in 2016. This was big for me for my career, as it still inspires me.
Anyone up for a challenge?
I took these photos on my journey, and I challenge y'all to try to recreate any one or all of them in your own way!
Maybe this will inspire some of y'all who are in a rut or looking for inspiration 🥰
All of these photos were taken by me in Amsterdam. I am by no means a professional photographer, so please don't judge the photos 😂
I think this will be fun! I'll upload my recreation once it's finished 🥰
