➡️Your horse is allowed to have a bad day. So are you. If either is… don’t pick a fight, don’t work the barrels, heck, it’s ok to even turn around and turn them back out. 😅

They are living beings and not everyday is going to be 100% effort. That’s OK. Don’t make something from nothing.

Just a sorrel........

Nothing blows my mind more than people in the horse world saying "Just a plain sorrel" or In search of posts for people looking for their dream horse and stating "open to anything of color, just no sorrels".
Whats a sorrel?.....
A sorrel is a horse that has earned his place, not hiding behind or relying on his unique, flashy coat color to make him stand out in the world
A sorrel is more heart and try than I have ever seen in a horse.
A sorrel is a horse who's value is solely based on substance, ability and mind, not on cosmetics.
A sorrel is red, the color of power.
A sorrel has taught me more than any horse ever has.
A sorrel keeps me as honest as a horseman as he is as a horse.
A sorrel is a horse that should never be underestimated.
A sorrel is a horse that chose me.
A sorrel is the one horse on the property you couldn't buy from me even if you caught me on my worst day.

From a follower, this really spoke to me and THIS is why I share all this negative stuff too, because our kids have it a lot harder than we do with social media these days and I just want to set a good example for our kids that these people don’t matter, laugh it off, find humor and do YOU! They are going to talk regardless! So thank you to my follower who sent me this. 💜

My 13 yr old daughter has been dealing with hateful comments & rudeness from people she used to consider her friends, because she’s now running 1D/2D times while they’re still in the 4D/5D. They call her a cheater for running on Lasix and think that’s the only reason she’s doing well. (Because Lasix makes you a better rider obviously! 🤦🏼‍♀️)

They don’t see the hours and hours she puts in on her horses every day, the money we put in for good vet care, maintenance, feed, and supplements, and the lessons she takes with a professional trainer. I’ve been trying to get her to see that their opinions don’t matter, but to a 13 yr old acceptance from your peers is so important. Seeing your videos and hearing it from someone who excels in the industry has been extremely helpful to her mindset.
