It's hard to describe how delightful I feel right now. I'm on the porch of my favorite coffee house and the weather is perfect and my mint tea is ice cold and the wifi is blazing.

I've been sick a lot this year, and it's been hard (I can see it in my face). But I feel good today and I'm getting back to writing the guide book that goes with the InnerAllies and the InnerAlly Assessment.

The inner voice plays a role in anxiety. Learning to work with a critical or harsh inner voice can begin to soothe the body and move it out of fight-or-flight. Obviously anxiety is complex and can be precipitated by many things, including brain chemistry, but what might happen if you treated your unhelpful thoughts like they were fake news?

Hooray! I'm excited to announce I've been selected to speak at the NAADAC, The Association for Addiction Professionals in October!

Did you know that meditation is not 100% good for everyone? I'll be talking about my experience with guiding people in recovery through mindfulness practices, and how to modify practices to meet the needs of folks who have experienced life challenges.

I'm glad we are at a time where people are taking leave to do some mental wellness activities (or lack of activity). But at the same time, it feels like mental health is tenuous all around right now.

If you are struggling, and a critical inner voice is holding you back in life, I want to help. I'm thinking about offering a weekly group where the cost is much lower than private coaching.

An InnerAlly is a kind & supportive inner voice, easy right? Not so fast! There's several ways you can get tripped up.

Most of the barriers to a InnerAlly are formed in early childhood, are a result of challenging events, or difficult relationships (or even cultural conditioning).

The cards I'm holding are just a sample of the 16 InnerAllies I created based on people's core emotional needs (aka universal needs for humans).

How do you know which InnerAllies can help you? 🤔

Well that's what I'm working on now! The second version of the InnerAlly Assessment will help you to explore the places where you would benefit from a little more inner support.

I'm writing the text that will accompany the assessment and be part of the book that comes with the InnerAlly Cards!

Why would you want do InnerAlly Coaching with me? If you are hard on yourself, if you feel like you need to be perfect, if you procrastinate, if you use coping to escape, these are just a few signs that my work can help you. I use my own work nearly every day with myself! I'm an expert for a reason. 😉

Thank you for all the well wishes, my talk went SO well! There were people buying my InnerAlly cards right in the middle of my session and I was not even allowed to advertise products. They were just looking me up because they loved my work! How cool is that?

It was so heartening for me to get this amazing positive feedback. Several people approached me after my session to say how much they benefited from it. I'm feeling so wholehearted.

I'm excited to be presenting my work to a packed room of behavioral health professionals!! InnerAlly is the process I developed to help people practice compassion through their inner thoughts.

This will be the first time I share my work with other professionals who are out in the world improving mental health on a daily basis! May my work be amplified and reach people suffering with a harsh and critical (or even bullying) inner voice.

Real, long-lasting, positive change is the focus of the Gentle Path to Change training I'm offering starting JANUARY 11th, 2024.

In between you, (as you are now,) and future you (the state of you that you desire) is a gap. In order to change and grow into the person you desire, you have to navigate the gap.

One of the ways to do this is to fundamentally understand how to best motivate yourself.

In the January training we will be using the InnerAlly process to determine our individual profiles, aka who is on our InnerAlly team. This will provide a customized roadmap to guide how you need to motivate yourself for success.

This is a key component of change because it gets right down to the parts of you that need to be supported or even nurtured in order for you to thrive.

Part of the secret to success is being able to be in "right" relationship with ourselves, and to be our own best cheerleaders, especially during times of challenge.

It's one thing to make a New Year Resolution, but it's an entirely different set of skills to be able to make your resolution come to fruition.

A critical step is to set up the habits that support your resolution (or change, or goal, or dream).

Basically our whole lives can be broken down into sets of habits, from the time we wake up in the morning until we put our head on the pillow at night. We are largely just sets of habits.

Although that may sound boring, restricting, or not very fun, we can use these tiny habits to be able to craft the life we want for ourselves.
