In this video, we'll be taking a closer look at the author and illustrator behind the children's book "The Cloud Story." The illustrator, Kaitlyn J. Marquardt, is a successful graphic designer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She obtained a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design from Iowa State University, and art and design have allowed her to express herself freely and gain a deeper understanding of the world. "The Cloud Story" is her first children's book, and it was a passion project that she worked on with her stepdad. The author, Elliot A. Herland, resides in Rosemount, Minnesota, with his wife, Julie. They have four adult children, all of whom grew up hearing "The Cloud Story" at bedtime. Elliot, who works as an attorney-mediator-meditator, used his creative imagination to negotiate his kids to sleep. The story, which was made up as a bedtime breathing meditation, centered around releasing the stresses of the day by drifting on a cloud. While the story's details varied, the storyline remained consistent. Now, "The Cloud Story" has been turned into a beautifully crafted children's book that is sure to delight young readers.
