‘STRONG’ IS MY GOAL NOW 💪🏻

Right before Covid-19 made its way to America, I was at my lowest weight in many, many years. I had lost over 100 pounds, and was feeling great!

52 is not old! God willing, I’ve only lived half of my life so far… I want to be here to watch my grandbabies grow and succeed, and watch my children continue to flourish for the rest of their lives 🙏🏻💗💗💙💋🙋🏼‍♀️

LIFTING MY WEIGH HEALTHY

I used to be fit. I used to be healthy. I used to be happy. I used to be strong. That is, until my daughter passed away in 2002. It was then, thanks to PTSD and severe grief depression, when I lost it all.

I’m currently 52 years old, & I want it all back. I’m not going to stop until I achieve it again. I’m slowly healing & recovering from an extremely severe case of COVID19 I was hospitalized for late last year. This puts a bit of a damper on things.

I’ve watched and felt my mental/physical health deteriorating right before my eyes since the beginning of 2019, even though I didn’t become ill with COVID until October of this past year (2021).

It’s been a slow, ongoing, and extremely depressing past few years for me, health-wise. I still make the best out of each and every day, even though my body wants to quit.

I won’t let it quit.

I had a post-Covid follow-up last week, and my doctor gave me the green light to resume light exercise. I inquired about getting back to lifting weights, and to my surprise, she said I could~ as long as I train with low weights & reduced reps/sets! She also made me promise to stop immediately if I felt weakness, experienced any shortness of breath, or started coughing again.

You better believe I promised!

Upon returning home and dusting off my gym equipment (literally) I decided that I definitely need some help getting back into shape. I’ve followed female bodybuilder & former Miss Olympia Erin Stern for most of her career. So I literally “hired” her to help me through this part of my journey.

I decided to join Erin’s online “FITU/Fit University” program, and I’m feeling really great about making that decision! She helped me create a fitness program and nutrition plan according to my personal needs. I will take as many rest days as needed, and will take it very slow for the first month or so.

I’m so excited for this new beginning, this new and improved journey in my life. It hasn’t been easy on me, but I’m ready to start over again, with God by my side, guiding me through. Did I mention I have 2 beautiful granddaughters, and a brand new grandson to get healthy for?!!!

However, this time around, I have to get healthy for ME. I’ve learned in the past that losing weight for the wrong reasons is not sustainable, and will not make you happy. I am the only one who can provide the effort, commitment, consistency, and hard work necessary to accomplish my ongoing health and wellness goals.

I’m doing this for me, but my kids and grandkids will also greatly benefit from my improved health, which is so very important to me 🙋🏼‍♀️💕💙

My plan is to check in here at least once a week to log my progress, and in the interim, I’ll be creating a fun and interactive website where I’ll turn this FB page into my official new blog. I’ll keep you posted, and can’t wait to see you there!
