Parted with this pretty pair this week! Howling, commonly called White Buffalo Turquoise, even though it has no real relation to turquoise. Howling has become one of my new favorites to work with, and I believe that it stands on its own merit, deserving of its own name!

✨ I have a Special Announcement!! ✨

I am so excited to finally announce that uhn-'ərth company will be setting up shop at the Barona Annual Powwow, where we will be celebrating Native American culture! The Grand entry begins Friday September 2nd @ 8pm. The Event continues on the 3rd, and 4th starting @ 12:30pm on into the evening. Admission is free.

This event is so special to me. I have been going to this powwow ever since I was a little girl. I feel incredibly honored and excited to represent my tribe with my work. It’s been a personal goal and dream, and now it’s coming true! 🤗

So Please come enjoy traditional food, dancing, and the jewelry/crafts of my extremely talented fellow artisans! Let the count down begin!! 👏🏼

Pretty Pairings, forged by yours truly! ⚒🔥

My recent collection showcases my personal favorite, Royston Ribbon Turquoise. Like many of you, I of course love the pure unadulterated aqua that comes, from say, Sleeping Beauty Turquoise?
But Royston Ribbon is special. It showcases both the turquoise and the host rock in which it forms. You can imagine the copper laden minerals mixing with water and filling spaces like ice ages ago. I appreciate the reminder of where these beautiful things come from. ⛰🛠 And I get the fun task of taking these unearthed materials, and transform them into something for you to wear and enjoy more intimately! 💎

Summer Staples with a dash of Whimsy 🦋

As a little girl, I was ALWAYS outside, climbing trees, swimming, making sand castles in the sand, riding horses, and digging in the dirt. I’ve had an affinity for rocks and shells since I was quite young. I had quite the stash too; they were my treasures. 💎🐚 Now as a metalsmith & Jewelry maker, I still get to play with these beautiful unearthed stones and elements, and share them with others to wear and enjoy too!

This is the “Sunbeam necklace”, affectionately named for the way it sparkles in the sunlight. ☀️ This Spiny Turquoise Necklace is the perfect ornament for summer, but in reality, the style and colors aren't limited to any one season. The setting features two stones, one Spiny Turquoise cab and one baby Kingman Turquoise cab. The sunbeam necklace celebrates vibrant hues and eclectic mixtures. It was such a joy to showcase my latest work at the Small Business Popup event last weekend! I was touched to see the colorful and eclectic pieces so well received! Also happy to see so many fellow turquoise lovers out there. While many of them were snagged, there are still some left. ✨Happy Monday friends! ✨It is high time I properly introduced myself on this platform. So let me kick off this week by sharing a little about myself!

Hi 👋🏼 I’m Jasmine, the owner and maker behind uhn-erth company! I was born and raised in San Diego, and am a California girl through and through.☀️ My Mother’s Kumeyaay Native Heritage and my Father’s Swiss background made for a culturally rich upbringing, and both greatly influence my work and identity. I have been exploring the art of metalsmithing and jewelry making for the past 4 years now. What started off as a hobby, later turned into a passion/obsession. I’ve always been interested in, what most people would consider to be, dying arts, such as drawing, painting, & sewing. While my interests took an unexpected twist, Metalsmithing definitely falls under that same umbrella! I find great beauty in the process of taking natural elements, unearthed from the ground, and making them into something wearable to be enjoyed more closely.

It may be February, but It’s been feeling like Summer here in San Diego!! It’s been 90 degrees the past few days and I am soaking it all in! It’s been fun switching out knit sweaters for beachy cotton dresses. Fortunately Turquoise goes with either! ☀️🍂
