1. Work/Study-Life balance. Spend time with your family, do what you love, enjoy your hobby and switch to something as soon as you get bored.

2. Take your time. No rushing, you will be required to complete 1 home task per week. You will do it easily, even if you have full-time job.

3. Motivate yourself with checking new highly-paid QA vacancies.

5. Take a break. If you feel tired it’s okay to take a break from studying. Get back as soon as you feel ready.

My name is Alex Kara and I’ve been working in Software Testing (better known as QA) for more than 10 years now ⭐‍💻

I am used to setting challenging goals for myself, that’s why I decided to move from Ukraine to the USA, together with my wife. And to be honest, obtaining a work visa was a really big project for us. 

But it was worth it. The effort is always paid off ☝️

Before I became a software tester, I had switched several positions. I worked in marketing as well as in a more familiar sphere — website development. 

But once I realized what attracted me most, I became obsessed with that and started perfecting my QA skills 💪

I got a lot of experience while working in this sphere - like QA management, team management, SQL/No SQL testing, developing testing infrastructure, working with testing reports etc.

⭐️ I was lucky to work with such companies as Verizon, Expedia, Desire2Learn. I was the head of the QA departments there and my work resulted in delivering top-quality products in these companies. 

For me, the benchmark for success in this job is the fact that a lot of people are asking me for advice related to QA or employment in this sphere. 

Once at 3 AM, it hit me: why am I wasting time if I can help much more people? 💡 I couldn’t sleep that night anymore. In a while, I did some research and started my own company “QA in USA”.

Who is the best candidate to become a QA tester?

You might think that it’s a person with some technical skills or, at least, who was good at math at university!
