Five years ago we had the amazing honor of creating our first postage stamps for US Postal Service so it’s with great excitement that we announce a new postage stamp we designed that are out in the world as of their first day of issue - August 15, 2024. We had the pleasure of working again under the talented art direction of Greg Breeding and alongside several of our favorite artists who each created one of the 10 typographic designs in the set. We also had the opportunity to work on the templates for the buttons themselves including their three-dimensional appearance and the actual pin fasteners that appear on the back of the pane of stamps.

Each pinback button in the series is adorned with a single upbeat message, with the DKNG designed stamp exclaiming ‘Kudos!’. For our design we wanted to take a script lettering approach with decorative flourishes to add some pomp and circumstance to the congratulatory message.

The first-day-of-issue event for these Forever stamps took place at the Great American Stamp Show in Hartford, CT on Thursday, August 15, at 11am ET.

Harley-Davidson’s annual Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival of all things motorcycles, music, and Milwaukee returned this year to Harley’s home city with performances from the Red Hot Chili Peppers , Jellyroll615, HARDY, and many more. We were excited to work on the festival’s branding for a second year in a row, including creating this year’s poster. Fusing elements of music and motorcycles, the poster features a classic H-D helmet, and in its visor’s reflection, a scene of a 1971 Super Glide cruising towards downtown Milwaukee with musical gear helping to create the skyline.

The Homecoming posters come in a regular edition on 100 lb Cougar Natural paper as well as a variant edition on 10 pt rainbow foil. Available in super limited artist editions - the regular edition of 50 and the variant edition of 50 are both signed and numbered by DKNG. The Harley-Davidson Homecoming posters are available in the DKNG Store while supplies last.

We’re coming to Bumbershoot in Seattle, WA for Flatstock 97. Join us in the Armory on August 31 and September 1, 2024 where we’ll be exhibiting/selling many of our gig posters, art prints, and other goods from 12-8pm each day alongside dozens of our fellow gig poster artists. We recently got to lead a workshop at Creative Works West in Seattle, and jumped at the chance to bring a new art print with us celebrating Seattle along with the theme of the conference, by fusing together the iconic with a sharpened pencil. What made the project even more fun was getting to collaborate with our friends at Vahalla Studios who handled the stellar screen printing on the project.

The Space Pencil art print is an 11” x 14” three-color screen print on French Paper Manila Yellow Kraft. Check out a few closeup photos of the print below. The open edition art print is available in the DKNG store while supplies last.

One of our favorite bands performing in one of our favorite cities always make for an awesome gig poster opportunity, so we were thrilled to take on a poster for The National playing at Crystal Palace Park in London. For quite a while we’ve been creating aerial view compositions for the band, and for this show we give it a bit of twist, with a unique 3/4 view of London’s iconic Tower Bridge.

The National London poster is a 24” x 18” four-color screen print on natural cover stock, with a signed and numbered artist edition of 50 prints. The National London poster is available in the DKNG store while supplies last.

The Dave Matthews Band summer tour rolls on, where this past weekend they played the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts. We were lucky enough to get to create a poster for the show, and we tried to create a sense of the surroundings where the venue lies nestled among the trees. To that end, we created what is perhaps a secret forest entrance to the show, with some woodland creatures leading the way.

The Mansfield, MA poster is an 18” x 24” four-color screen print with a regular edition on Cougar Natural 100lb cover stock and variant edition on 10pt rainbow foil. In addition to the posters sold live at the show, we have two very limited artist editions of 100 regular prints and 50 variant prints, signed and numbered by DKNG and available directly from us.

We’re happy to be working with Dave Matthews Band again in 2024, this time for their US Summer Tour. It’s always a unique challenge to find creative ways to integrate dozens of tour dates into a poster composition. In this case, we went with a classic 1950s service station, fitting the tour dates into all of the typical signage, tin tackers, banners, and flags that adorned stations of the past.

The summer tour poster is a 24” x 18” four-color screen print with a regular edition on Cougar Natural 100lb cover stock and variant edition on 10pt rainbow foil. We’re thrilled to announce that our art print celebrating the work of Frank Lloyd Wright will be exclusively available TODAY, May 2, via Spoke Art starting at 10am PT. This five-color screen print features the Pearce House, which was built in 1950 in Bradbury, CA. Not only did we want to create a print featuring a Wright design in our home state, but we were especially inspired by the natural symmetry that occurs between the roof line and patio of the building, balancing light and shadow. The print is available in two limited editions, including an ultra rare edition on gold foil paper!

AEC Advisors are financial advisors for the architecture, engineering, and consulting industries and when it came to the design of their new New York City offices, they wanted to include a mural that could speak to the industries that they serve, along with a few subtle nods to their founders and the company’s history. Working with AEC leadership along with the team at LecoursDesign, who designed the office space and AEC Advisors rebrand, we illustrated a panoramic 50’ wide isometric mural that spans the office space. The fantastical world of the mural includes everything from city infrastructure like power plants and airports, sports stadiums, residential and commercial zones under construction, as well as some unexpected features like a pen of black Iberian pigs, Southern California landmarks (home to the founders), and the apartment building where the company was founded. DKNG's first digital download is now available! Mezzo is a simple and easy to use five-page Adobe Illustrator file that contains everything you need to make live and editable grain textures in Illustrator. The download includes live examples of editable textures paired with instructions on how to build and colorize your own art using the provided textures. From gradients to solid fills to strokes, there's a grain texture for a variety of applications. Also included is a tips and tricks troubleshooting section, as well as sample cover art using the texture techniques that can be used as a starting point to get started with the various texturizing techniques. The grain textures are copy and paste ready, or you can also use the preloaded graphic styles to quickly apply one of the seven provided grain textures to your own work.

We’re returning to in Austin, TX! Presented by the American Poster Institute, Flatstock 92 will display the works of the world’s top poster artists. The show runs March 13-15 and will feature posters of varying styles and techniques for sale by the very artists who create them. At the DKNG booth, we’ll have lots of rare and previously sold out posters available. Visit us in the Austin Convention Center, Wednesday - Friday. Flatstock is free and open to the public.

We’re headed to Seattle for a west coast edition of the conference, and we’ll be teaching a new workshop on site. In this workshop participants will learn how to design their very own enamel pin. We cover everything from concept development, art file setup, our design and illustration process, and final file prep. We’ll also cover what to keep in mind for the manufacturing process of pin production, the upfront costs involved, and how to appropriately price your work for retail and wholesale scenarios.

Our 1-on-1 sessions are back with only six individual slots available per month, for a limited time. We’ve added availability for two sessions each of our three types of offerings: Portfolio Review, Creative Business Consultation, and Illustration/Design Instruction. along with an amazing rosters of artists just wrapped up four nights of music in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and we were honored to create the branding and key art for the event. This was Brandi’s 5th year hosting which this year included , , and special guest . Our design was inspired by the location at the Barcelo resort where the lush tropical foliage meets the ocean.

In addition to the main poster art for the event, we also got to produce a fun “Brandi Land” map of the resort and all the fun filled activities that took place on site. Our art also appeared throughout the festival grounds as environmental stage graphics and photo ops. Check all the fun that was had in the photos above, along with our original sketches of the art.
