“Every pass sets up for the finish” ... it’s crazy how much I love grading with a dozer .. especially ‘s d39ex; they are just that good . This was a real fun one ... a three pad camping area on a 300 acre ranch in the backcountry of San Diego . Had to work with the elevation to get it all in and be able to have a large 5th wheel access it
Regraded this water tower access road and put in a few more erosion bars to kick the water off the road
Punched a future garden pad at the .
I went in business on my own not to create a massive company or make a ton of money but for the ability to do this ... have more time for my family and little buddies ... love tracking them and bringing them on jobs
That time of year again... grass is growing and gotta keep these commercial lots brushed so animals dont move in and then Comie California comes in to save the day and shut your already graded super pads down for ever for a sanctuary
Pushed about 2 feet of silt out of this sand wash ... years ago the blm did a controlled burn that got out of control ... then a big winter storm brought down a debris mud flow and covered it all up... it was cool to hear the client speak of his Old pristine sand wash when I started , yet no trace of sand existed ... as I started digging there it was ... pushed up a wider road with it, made a new rv pad ... and covered all the brush I dozed with the rest ... it was cool to see his eyes light the first time he saw his sand again
Dirt waves at the ... hard to believe since the day we finished and tac’d these lines we have had over 10 inches of rain on the park ... this picture was taken after all those rain events 📸
... shaping dirt is really fun ... ever since I can remember I’ve been mesmerized by it
Throw back to the last day the was calm and quite ... final tests with my best buddy ...
Punched in a parking area for a camp site I made on a 300 acre ranch
What a wild ride it’s been to get this park done ... I joined in advocating with for public bike parks in 2014 .. I was gun hoe and fired up to get these creations to the public ... i didn’t last long to be honest ... as I sat before mayors with sdma and to constantly get no’s I thought it was hopeless ... I got busy and dwindled away but never gave up and never stopped ... 6 years later their vision fell on county supervisor Gregg Cox and he listened ... job well done ... if your in San Diego join them and support them ... they are working on more ... job well done .stone_ and the rest of the San Diego Mountain Bike Association
Making ranches great again .. been 20 years since a tractor was last here ... back then they just buried the dozer blade and pushed a slot ... road was overgrown and rutted so bad you could drive it ... 1 mile long and she’s a super highway now ... been a nice break ... no reception and in the middle of no where
An amazing day at the grand opening yesterday... the park looked like Disney land with so many people. Job well done because the supervisors and heads of parks were blown away by how many of the community showed up . Saw a lot of smiles... it was a blessing and honor to create this park along side S&B engineering and with my team and ...
Man it’s nice to get back to what I love most ... making ranches great again ... been building a bike park for the County of San Diego for the last 4 months ... parks are fun but man are they are a lot of tedious work and mental thinking ... I just love being in the back country and fixing problems ; no plans no rules ... it’s fun to analyze the situation... where’s the water coming from and going ... what dirt do I have to work with ... how can I make moves without destroying a bunch of vegetation which then causes more erosion ... most of the times on these old ranches a big dozer just buried the blade digging the roads below grade which then makes a run off channel like this one here ... the challenge is to get the water to flow for years to come without constant maintenance... today was a good start ... moved the dozer in and then plugged away for 4 hours ... need to tidy up the crown and then head in ... one mile to the ranch ; all over grown and draining horrible... can’t wait
I love punching house pads ... so fun to plan your exit
Man I miss this kinda finish ...Been doing a bike park for the last 4 months and there’s not much for straight lines ... can’t wait to share it when it opens and then get back to some good finish work ... who else loves them some finish
Yearly belly pan cleaning and wash n wax
It’s an indescribable feeling rolling amazing dirt with perfect moisture in smooth control ...
👊🏻👊🏻✊🏻🚀
Fresh-in up Vogt ranch for the ride day
Can’t wait for it to rain again
Can’t post my current project for a while so I’m going back thru some old jobs ... I love creative projects like this ... client wanted a dry river bed look ... a good friend had these killer rocks from his own project we were able to buy ... the existing was flat and beat from the process of building the home ... grading is so enjoyable to me because you have to look past the mess and see the finish .. you have to envision every curve and contour before you place the rock ... I love the eastern sierras and I always study the way God naturally designed rocks to fall and move in those canyon environments... He is the ultimate creator and I’m thankful we are created in his image ... we too have the ability to create ... thankful to call this a career
Nice little job opening up this old access road . Client wanted to pull in his trailers to park on site instead of paying storage.
Keeping those footings tight and clean ... used the spoil to back fill the wall ... we then roughed in the driveway for pavers to get more dirt to cap the wall backfill ... well import class 2 base before they begin building so there won’t be any mess when it rains
