my shop is officially open! in the past four years since i’ve been selling stickers, i’ve never had an official store and i’ve relied on selling art through dms. i’m really appreciative of how patient everyone has been with me as i’ve spent time figuring out the shop. the shop link is in my bio!

last year i started this drawing and decided i hated it and abandoned it entirely. since then, i began experimenting for the first time with blending in my drawings. i usually hate this, as i’ve sorta become known for the sorta blocking texture i use in my digital portraits. it’s comfortable for me and it’s how i’ve drawn portraits for over ten years.

but since utilizing blending in some of my drawings, i see the benefit and i think i can achieve something i’m happy with; maybe even achieve a more heightened realism style. i want to experiment more this year. (second slide is where it was when i abandoned the drawing lol)

i don’t have much to say here. i actually really hate lol. did you know the has indigenous origins? it was taken and appropriated by the first us minister in mexico, who took the name and bastardized it to be named after himself. fitting.

in the Aztec language Nahuatl, the name translates to the “mortal flower that perishes and withers like all that is pure.” - i find that more powerful than christmas

pride flag kermits i drew in 2019!

I’ve got receipts made of scar tissue. — Virgo, Atmosphere

Throwback to a drawing i did in 2019 of my scars when i was a little less than two months post op.

Top surgery was something I kept a lot to myself, as in: One of my siblings knew because she took me to get surgery and everyone else found out when I was in the operating room lol.

I can’t articulate enough how lifesaving this surgery was for me.

I recently saw a post by that read: “this pride, forget the brands. we are our own best allies.”

it is the title of an article written by samantha allen. in it, she emphasizes how we should ignore the noise— the hollow gestures of a rainbow corporate logo, the hundreds of laws against us— and embrace each other. “we are our own best allies — and we always will be” she concludes.

i love the sentiment. it often feels like even within the community we are so divided. for the as a whole, and even within different spectrums under the trans umbrella. i think we can learn a lot when we embrace each other.
