I was at Mission Beach, San Diego when I saw this fantastic cloud formation. It was too dark for a photo, so I stared at the sky for a while, then went home and painted the whole thing from memory. This is also one of my first ocean wave paintings. January 2015.

The mysterious Green Flash happens just as the sun sets. It is actually just the reaction in your retinas to the sudden shift in lighting, but I have never seen anyone try to do a painting of it, so I thought I would give it a shot.
