Confessions of a Health Coach:
People are always asking me what I do to be fit and healthy on a regular basis. The answer is never an easy one. It has taken me a long time to develop a balanced, healthy lifestyle. Commitment, determination, finding things I love and paying attention to how foods and activity make me feel.
THAT BEING SAID: Even I still have times of low motivation. It's easier to not exercise, its easier to eat like crap. When I have times of low motivated I used to beat myself up, tell myself I was lazy and make myself feel bad. Over time I have come to understand that low motivation is ok, it's ok to take care of yourself, to have some downtime. And it only recharges me to get back into it when I'm ready. So don't beat yourself up when you're going through a down phase, just remember that it can remind you of how you feel when you ARE making better choices.
Saw this article today and wanted to post b/c I hear this question often and it's good information to have. I eat one or the other daily in my oatmeal so I get a protein and fat in my breakfast...and it flavors up my steel cut oats a bit :)

What the heck IS a health coach anyway? This term is used way too widely in my opinion. The best definition I could find is the following:
A professional health coach help clients optimize health and well-being by developing and sustaining healthful lifestyles. Coaches help clients enhance self-motivation and self-regulation, leverage strengths, navigate a journey of change and build other psychological resources needed to change for good, inducing mindfulness, self-awareness, positivity, hope, optimism, self-efficacy, and resilience (Frates & Moore, 2011).
ESSENTIALLY, a coach helps you make LONG TERM CHANGE by not telling you what to do, but walking next to you while helping you figure out what works for you by using your strengths and focusing on the positive.
Although what I do is to help women change their habits and behaviors to change their weight and health and I believe in the process fully, you do have to be READY to make these changes. If you're not 100% ready to take action, nobody can help you get there. So. You want it? You can have it.
Athletic pictures on instagram are interesting. Gym selfies, selfies in the mirror, professional photos, you name it. We wanna look good, ami right? Thing is. Posing can take your body from looking ok to really good. I wish more people got that so we don't all feel like crap about ourselves. This pic I was flexing my abs trying to get as much definition as I could. It's ridiculous and I love laughing at myself right now esp because I wasn't even happy with this pic bc I haven't been working out much. But I'm posting it anyway bc although my perfect may be different than yours, the idea of perfection is harmful. And idk about you but I'm done with it. The pressure us women put on ourselves is fing RIDICULOUS. And we do it to ourselves and each other. I wish I had the answer. But I will spend my life trying to help women feel better about themselves, lose weight, change their health and learn how to feel good in their bodies. Let's start THAT conversation.
Nothing else needs to be said. Happy Women Kick Ass Day. 💃
I was put on this earth to help women change their lives, especially their health. When I get feedback like this is makes my world. "It's easy for me to say that working with Courtney has changed my life. I first came to her feeling bad about myself and the choices I had been making, but knew I wanted to change my lifestyle. These past three months have been extremely eye opening for me and I know that without Courtney, I wouldn't have learned as much about myself as I have. A coach, a mentor, and a friend is what I feel like I have gained out of my experience working with Courtney. Her knowledge of exercise and nutrition is so impressive and makes me want to learn more. Her lack of judgement and immense understanding of my life are two things I very much appreciate about Courtney. Three months ago I felt discouraged, unhealthy and defeated. I can now proudly say I feel healthy, happy, confident and excited to lead this type of life forever!" Jesse, Chicago,IL.
Ok ladies. BIG FUN happening! I am opening up 15 spots for a March 27th program I am SUPER excited about!!! 10 spots open for a 4-week MINI WEIGHT LOSS JUMP START and 5 spots open for a full 8-week FULL WEIGHT LOSS JUMP START! (link below)
What's different about what I offer??
I offer calorie and exercise expertise with follow-up and accountability, but what is different is that I include the most important piece....helping you CHANGE YOUR HABITS!
You can follow an exercise and nutrition program until you're blue in the face. That does very little to change your habits long term, and THAT is what is missing from traditional programs.
You won't create long term change without goal setting, addressing the reason behind your sabotaging behavior and knocking those roadblocks out of the way. And THAT is where coaching comes in.
It is completely personal and ALL ABOUT YOU. It works my friends.
So join me on March 27th and let's do this!

PM me with any questions!
Ps: 5 people minimum for the 4 week program.
Jump-Start | Real Health Coaching Your Weight Loss Jump Start You try your best but you fall back into the same old TIRED habits, no matter how much you try (trust me I know you TRY).
Listen. Losing weight or getting past food addiction, is not just about what you do with you body. Honestly that's only a piece of it. First you need to work on your thoughts, your habits and the conversation you have with yourself daily. Seriously. We use food as a crutch, a cushion, a band-aid to bigger issues. And that's ok! But let's start TALKING ABOUT THE WAY YOU THINK. That's FIRST. Most programs focus on the outside pieces of exercise and food. I help you work on the inside first. Because THAT, my friends, is what creates lasting change.
How the heck do you even start to make changes? I get asked that all the time...how do I stop eating sugar, how do I control my cravings? There's no easy answer but there is an answer! I've recently had a few clients tell me they love the coaching process because not only are they making changes they've never been able to stick to before, but they don't feel judged or made to feel 'bad' about not sticking to their goals perfectly. This makes me happy but also sad that women feel so bad about not being perfect. Let me tell you, even those of us who live health aren't perfect in our eating and exercise. We indulge cravings, eat crap sometimes and go through phases of not being active. It's about achieving balance consistently. NOT perfection. Let's focus on the positive, what have you done this week that is POSITIVE? Once you start focusing on what you're doing right, the guilt disappears. Let's start a positive conversation for a change 🤗
