Couple of weeks ago we were filming an interview and behind the scenes of making “Twas the Night before Christmas” 200 Years Anniversary Luxury Edition. This book is being published by Chicago based private company this year. I had an honor to illustrate this magical Christmas story with help of my talented artist friend and great designer (and new friend) . I can’t wait to hold our creation in my hands!
There is a whole team of people working on this edition, only some of them pictured in this post. Here are few process shots from that day of filming in 2 locations: my home studio and conference room where a lot of our work meetings took place.
Special thanks to our amazing videographer . I have never seen so much equipment in my space, and I had several interviews filmed there before.

Love is a lot about nurturing. It’s a flower you cherish and water it consistently and frequently, so it grows and blossoms. I feel like this work of mine represents that well.

I love the good ethics and great intentions this app has. Made by artists for artists, who are trying to protects human-made art from AI swallowing machine. I’m trying to be optimistic, but it’s surely will be a bumpy ride at least in the beginning.

My Solo Show opens tonight 5-8pm
For those who want, but can’t come “Esoterica” will be on the display through June 30th.

The Queen of Wands sits upon a flower throne. This is a person of focus and fiery passion. She is courageous and individualistic. She has a positive uplifting energy. This lady represents someone who is willing to be by your side and stand up for you, but she is not likely to change who she is in order to fit any other person’s desires, and generally doesn’t care what others think of her.
Her hands hold a wand that sprouts spring blossoms. Even her crown has golden flowers in it. All of the blooms pictured here symbolizing life, fertility, joy and satisfaction. There is a sculpted lion’s head facing the queen, a symbol of fire, power and strength. A black cat sits beside her as a sign that while this woman is bold and outgoing she is also in touch with her shadow self – the darker, lesser-known side of her being, it also points at her ability to get in-touch with her deep intuition.

Details of one of my latest works: “Mastery” (Tarot, Eight of Pentacles). See the whole piece in person at starting May 4th, as part of my Solo Show “Esoterica”.
This piece combines abstract background created with alcohol ink pours, gold and copper leaf decorative elements representing coins with pentacles and a realistic figurative element showing laboring blacksmith, done in colored pencils and acrylic.
Key words of Eight of Pentacles are apprenticeship, repetitive tasks, mastery, skill development.

I thought I’m practically done with this piece, but the background came out very overpowering, now I have to add more highlights and enhance shadows to make her pop again. 🤦‍♀️ Creative process… It’s all good…

One of my latest and the most complex light and shadow work I’ve done so far. Multiple light sources with different temperatures. Reflections bouncing off her body, face and water, light penetrating through the wings, hair, background. Spent about 2 weeks painting this.

200 years anniversary edition of “Twas the Night before Christmas” book by Chicago based publisher . Together with my talented artist helper and great designer we’ve prepared something very special. Cancer Full Moon tonight! 🦀🌕
Time to manifest, especially for those who were born under that sign (I still consider myself one, tho modern science are saying we are off by a about a month already, because of the Earth’s shift, I’m still having hard time believing I could be a Gemini).

Here is my one and only self-portrait so far, that represents Cancer Zodiac Sign, and the phases of the Moon Cancer babies are so depended on.

In extension to celebration of Halloween and Dia De Los Mu***os posting some of my works that are on the darker side.
I don’t normally choose macabre as a subject to paint, but when I do it feels liberating in a way. We all have a dark side and pouring it into creativity is perhaps the most harmless way to let it out and let it go.
Any dark art lovers here? Who is already missing Halloween?

My Solo Show at is coming to an end. This is the last weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) when you can see my works in person over there. 9am-5pm. So if you are in La Jolla stop by.

I didn’t have a Solo Show in 4 years, so it was exciting to show compilation of works I did over these years (about half are originals, and half - more affordable limited edition embellished reproductions).

My Solo Show opens on Friday, October 6, 4-7pm at show room.
In addition to my exhibit there will be live painting (by me), wine and snacks. It is also an Art Walk and about 20 galleries in La Jolla are open that night.
I didn’t have a Solo Show in 4 years, so this is very exciting!
