Congratulations to Ms. Lindsey Irey, our Vice President, Operations for success in passing the very challenging Operators examination, for the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Structural Pest Control Board. Lindsey joins a very elite group of professional women in the pest management industry.

Its Ant season! They're invading. Depending on the species, one of the best ways to treat is the use of bait. This bait was applied along an ant trail and within minutes they were swarming it.

Tis the season! As members of the wonderful association of PCOC were proud to give back to the community, particularly less fortunate children. This is just a sneak peak of the donations made to the POLINSKY CENTER this year.

These kids have nowhere to go and if Santa doesn't visit then it's up to us to make sure their needs are met and share the holiday cheer.

Start on part time basis, with opportunity for full time after 30 day review. Include recent resume and general work experience.

· Learn how to identify certain urban pests
· Assist team members
o Interact with client/resident
o Organize items selected for removal or treatment
o Assist in the preparation and application of approved pesticides

Urban San Diego is accessible by public transportation. Driver’s license not required, but desirable.
Work is physical, with some climbing on ladders, and lifting of items weighing 25 to 50 pounds.

NPMA offers the following tips to avoid becoming a mosquito meal this summer:

• Eliminate areas of standing water around the home such as flowerpots, birdbaths, baby pools, grill covers and other objects where water collects. Mosquitoes need only about a ½ inch of water to breed.
• Screen all windows and doors. Repair even the smallest tear or hole.
• Minimize outside activity between dusk and dawn, when mosquitoes are most active. If you must be outside during those times, consider staying inside a screened-in porch or dressing in clothing that leaves very little exposed skin.
• Avoid wearing dark colors, loose-fitting garments, and open-toe shoes.
• Always use an insect repellant containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535 or oil of lemon eucalyptus when spending time outdoors or traveling, especially in areas known to have increased mosquito populations.
• If you are concerned about mosquito activity in your area, contact a pest management company or your local mosquito abatement district.
