What a long way we've come! Pride is now celebrated by small and large businesses alike (except for the 70+ countries where being gay is still illegal). But customers are very sensitive to "Rainbow Washing" and marketing campaigns that don't ring true. Many companies have proudly displayed rainbow products only to be called out for their non-inclusive policies or tone-deaf messaging. So what's the secret to a successful Pride campaign? The answer is the same for all marketing campaigns - authenticity! Ask yourself:

- Is your company really supportive of the LGBTQ community?
- Do we have an inclusive workplace?
- Is our non-pride marketing LGBTQ+ inclusive?
- Do we actively support LGBTQ+ organizations?

The handbook is designed to equip folks with tools and knowledge to explore how they feel and what choices are right and safe for them. Coming out is complicated, personal, and has no set timetable. Poway Veterans Organization (PVO) is our final do-good client highlight this month. 🇺🇸 They provide assistance to veterans and their families residing in Poway, Ramona and surrounding areas. Their main fundraiser is the annual golf tournament which funds projects like buying groceries, funding house repairs, paying utility bills, providing moving expenses, arranging transportation and making housing payments for eligible veterans. Another of our favorite clients that is making the world a better place is . Since San Diego has a large military population, there are a number of children who miss out on programs because one or both parents have been deployed, stationed abroad, or have given their lives serving our country. The Randy Jones Foundation provides new opportunities and resources for these kids to participate in local sporting events, programs, and outdoor activities. ​They also provide youth sports scholarships for driven student athletes 13-18 years old, so they can pursue specialized training in their chosen sports!
