It’s been a festive holiday season in Ocean Beach & San Diego. Grateful for warm weather, gorgeous winter sunsets & friends.
As I am preparing to look over the many propositions and races for I am finding myself relating to how many news consumers feel: overwhelmed. If you are feeling this way too, know, you're not alone. Please do not get frustrated and most importantly, please do not let it stop you from learning about the issues and politicians in your area.
It's important to vote but it's more important to vote with knowledge of the issues and people running for office. Don't solely rely on the ads you see or the five-second sound bytes. Look for responsible, accurate and ethical news articles about the topics and people. AND if you are unsure where to look or are not sure if something is trustworthy, ask a local journalist. If you don't know who to ask, send me a message and I can find someone for you.
I recently included this and other tips for consuming news for The San Diego Union-Tribune: https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/opinion/commentary/story/2022-10-12/news-media-trust-consumer-health
