Extension Business Certificates Closing Ceremony, September 6, 2019
Congratulations to our Spring 2019 Graduates!! We wish you all the best as you begin the next chapter of your lives!
A sunny weekend calls for the perfect outing. Make sure to check out Balboa Park if you haven't! A whole slew of museums, insta-worthy sites, and gardens awaits! 😎
Another cool activity that Extension offers is Beach Bonfire! 🏝️⭐🔥
Fun fact: S'mores is actually just an abbreviation of 'some more'. Because they're so good, you always want some more. S'mores and stars with a warm fire at the beach? Yes please 😉
Also thanks Yuki Miyamoto for the awesome pictures!
If you can't find the sun in the gloom, try looking underwater to see what you can find 😉
Let's go Padres 👏 Let's go! You can really feel the San Diego spirit at a Padres baseball game. If you want to participate in fun nights like these, check out more information at the front desk!
Weekend report! Our students took some time off for some volleyball, swimming, and good food at the Mission bay Aquatic Center. What better way to take advantage of the sun? 😎🏐☀️
Who said you couldn't get a good picture on a cloudy day?☁️
Fun fact: the setting sun lines up perfectly with the "river of life" in the Salk Institute courtyard on only 2 days of the year (spring and fall equinox)
Did you know that every Tuesday UCSD holds their own Farmers Market? It's located at the Town Square in front of Price Center every 10am-2pm, and offers an amazing variety of produce, specialty vendors, and local businesses. It's a great way to get a taste of San Diego's diverse community, as well as the hustle and bustle of UCSD student life! Rain or shine, the food and people at the Farmers Market will be sure to make your day ✌
Monday getting you a little blue? One of the perks of studying abroad at UCSD is that there is always some event that students are holding for free. UCSD is hosting a jazz show with student performers that's free for the public! If you want a little musical pick me up today on campus, check out the event page here:

The last team member we're featuring for this welcome week of the new session is Ellen Mann! Ellen is the 8 week and short term program producer. She supports and assists the very instructors and coordinators that students will be spending time with here at Extension. She's got the fun and spirit that welcomes any and all of our students. In fact, her favorite activity in San Diego is trying cool and new international foods outdoors, so if you have any tasty treats make sure to bring them by building A where you can find her!
Introducing Nicole Bennett-Iaccio! Another core member that is fully equipped to make sure students have the best experience here at UCSD Extension. Nicole is our academic adviser, and she can answer questions about college counseling, as well as anything about students' programs and classes. Not to mention she is a great person that always welcomes the students that come her way. So make sure to come by and say hi!

One of my favorite aspects of the Business Essentials program is that all my teachers have real life experiences on the subject that they teach. I think that makes the learning a lot more interesting and fun. My second favorite aspect of studying is that I have classmates from all over the world. I have learned so much more than just the topics covered in my courses. I have learned about new cultures and different ways of thinking, which to me was incredibly interesting. I’ve gained new friends from all over the world--for example: Brazil, Japan, and India.
After completing my certificate, my plan is to apply for OPT. I would like to apply everything I’ve learned from this year at UC San Diego Extension International Programs. I would also like to learn more about how the practical things work in an American business or organization. After OPT, I’ll go back to Sweden and my plan is to choose my major, which I think will be Human Resources. When I’m done with my studies here and in Sweden, I’ll start looking for jobs in . With this certificate and with all the knowledge I’ve gained I believe I’ll have a competitive advantage when applying for jobs back in Sweden. I believe I’ll become a valued asset to a company because of this experience.
