August 15 from 6:30pm PST join us. Use link in bio. Hear Report: Comprehensive s*x ed is crucial for young people. Yet it's still the exception, especially when it comes to students with disabilities.
What is up with the right wing? Statements like JD Vance's "cat ladies just want to make others miserable" attacks women who don't marry and procreate with men. Let's talk about fighting against their tactics to push white supremacy by controlling women's bodies! Zoom with us this Thursday Aug 1 at 6:30pm. Email to get the link: [email protected]
Against a backdrop of the AFL-CIO headquarters, labor and reproductive justice activists came together yesterday to call on the labor federation to convene an emergency national labor conference on reproductive justice. Our San Francisco chapter of the National Mobilization for Reproductive Justice was there!
The group gathered on Black Lives Matter Plaza on the second anniversary of the Supreme Court Dobbs decision that eliminated the constitutional right to abortion. Behind the speakers was an array of colorful placards and banners from the sponsors including the demand for an end to abortion bans threatening 7 million Black women.
National Mobilization members expressed eagerness to hear a response from the federation’s leader in response to a letter addressed to AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler. Shuler’s Chief of Staff Julie Collier received the letters at the podium. The AFL-CIO needs to sound the fire alarm for workers to pour out into the streets for reproductive justice! Palestinians have the right to birth and raise their children in a safe environment. IOF systematically denies that right in multiple ways, including preventing pregnant women from accessing prenatal care; stopping women in labor from moving quickly through checkpoints to get to a hospital in time to give birth; demolishing housing and limiting access to water, food, and medicine; and most egregiously, bombing and displacing the 2.2 million Palestinians living in Gaza, nearly half of whom are children.
ZOOM PLANNING MEETING! We will zoom next Thursday Dec 21 at 6:30pm (and not the previously scheduled Saturday date). Fight back against the attack on abortion pill access! Protest the "Walk for Life" BS that descends on San Francisco annually! We got reasons to protest and this year we will make it BIG. Let's get our creative juices flowing together and plan for the best counter protest yet on Jan 20. See you there. email us for link to zoom [email protected]
