Motor Yacht Fifer

s native Fifeshire, Scotland. Outfitted with machine guns and armor-plated windows, M.Y. Fifer became a patrol vessel for Japanese submarines, serving until the end of WWII. Crawford, passing shortly before this, never realized his dream of cruising the world. Post war, the Fifer had several different owners including R. M. Andrews of the Maquinna Investment Company; Paul Edward Lowe of the San Diego Chargers; Clarence Wallace, Lieutenant Governor of B.C.; the Powell River Company; celebrity lawyer Melvin Belli; and Tom and Linda Pellarin. During her illustrious history, M.Y. Fifer has entertained such guests as the late cinema star Gracie Fields; various Lord Mayors of London, England; and cruised with members of the Royal Family. Keepsake photos show Prince Philip aboard in the 1970s. Today, M.Y. Fifer is owned by an avid yachtsman with interests in classic yacht restoration. The crew is working to bring Fifer back to her original grandeur of the 1930s replete with modern amenities.
