is thrilled to have a full group of five nursing superstars participating in this year's SF Marathon! Led by Rebecca Schaffer, a TAAF board member, their dedication shines brightly. Rebecca’s family has been profoundly affected by brain aneurysms, with both her father and sister Stephanie, also a TAAF board member, being survivors.
Did you know approximately 1 in 50 Americans has an unruptured brain aneurysm? That's nearly 600 runners from last year's marathon! Additionally, a brain aneurysm is estimated to rupture every 18 seconds. On a day when times are at the forefront, we hope you will think of these numbers and join us in celebrating the dedication of these and all nurses. Their commitment to raising awareness and ensuring every patient--including brain aneurysm, AVM, and stroke patients--returns to their family is truly inspiring.
Want to keep running or participate in a local nonprofit that cares about the brain health of your family? Join TAAF at their annual awareness event, TAAFWalk, on September 29th at Crissy Field.
